President’s Message President’s Message President’s Message President’s Message Linda KohlerLinda KohlerLinda KohlerLinda Kohler
It’s hard to believe that the holidays are already upon us! The time from
Thanksgiving Day to New Year’s Day is my favorite time of year! There is
something magical about December. The hustle and bustle, the cheerful-
ness, and of course, the anticipation, all leading to time spent with loved ones. Do you re-
member when you were a child, how exciting the holidays were? And then how your family
traditions changed with the different phases of your life? But no matter what these changes
were, the special feeling has always been there? This is also the time of year for finishing
those painting projects that you are making for gifts. Has anyone else finished a gift right at
the last minute, sprayed it, and given it in a semi-sticky state?
Our very busy fall is coming to an end! The Christmas party on December 13 is the last
event for this calendar year. January brings a whole new fun year! Our first meeting for
2016 features a project after the meeting taught by Jan Bowen, and installation of our new
officers. Don’t forget to sign up for the April retreat! Let’s fill the lodge early! I wish every-
one a wonder-filled and peaceful holiday season! It is fantastic working with such a great
group of people!

Program Report Emily Stamm, VP Programs
November was a busy and fast month-we had our Preview party for Retreat on November 1st and our No-
vember meeting on the 8th. Election of officers took place at the meeting. Jan Bowen won the election for
VP Programs and Gayle Wissel won the election for Secretary. Congratulations to Jan and Gayle-they will
both do a SUPER job for GCDA! I also taught a class called “Festive tree Ornament” at our meeting. It
was a wonderful group of students who ALL finished their project and took home a ready to hang orna-
ment! Great job!
Here come the Holidays!
I am looking forward to our Christmas party on December 13th. I hope that everyone sent in their RSVP!

And Christmas Party News
In November, many of you turned in your ornaments: Judy Wolf, Alice Goldfuss, Michelle Kohler, Erin
Craycraft and Barb Winterberg. Baskets were turned in by Emily Stamm, Jan Bowen, Sandy Sutterfield and Peggy
Faris. You can still turn in your ornaments, but please try to get them to me before the Christmas Party.
I hope you are all working on selling the Raffle tickets! I will have more tickets at the Christmas Party, so
you can still sell chances for the baskets. The baskets are beautiful! Thank you to all of you who volunteered to
paint them for us. The ornaments are just as wonderful. You all do great work!
The following people have RSVP’d for the Christmas Party:
If your name is NOT on the list and you want to come, please call me or email ASAP. We would love for you to
come and enjoy the party! Don’t forget to bring a $10 gift to exchange (optional) and any Raffle tickets and money
you have collected. Appetizers, drinks, lunch and desserts will be provided by the Christmas Party Committee.
