DEADLINES1. Meeting deadlines is extremely

important in order to succeed at BTEC and will get you ready for Uni/Apprenticeships/Jobs.

2. There is not a lot of time throughout the academic year to cover the majority of assignments in detail. Therefore it is essential you stick to the given deadlines by teachers.

DEADLINESAccording to Edexcel (BTEC Awarding Body). For Distinction grade criteria.

‘The term ‘working independently’ means that they are able to work on their own initiative, do not need constant support or supervision, give the work their full commitment, work positively and cooperatively with others, and meet deadlines. In other words, they have the kind of self-management skills that would be expected of them in a professional context.’

DEADLINES

1. If you miss any of the given deadlines the highest grade you will achieve will be a PASS regardless of the content and quality of the assignment.

2. If you submit within the given deadline and it achieves an NYA (Not yet achieved) you will have the opportunity to upgrade within that term. For example if an assignment is due early November you have until Christmas to submit.

Approval for late submission is at the discretion of the course team, and will only be approved for genuine, and where necessary documented, reasons.

If you do have a genuine reason for late submissions it will be down to the individual teacher to decide which course of action to take.

DEADLINESSubmitted workAlways check the assignment brief to ensure you have completed all the necessary tasks BEFORE you submit the work.

You should keep an electronic copy of each completed assignment for your reference and this should be on the college H drive – failure to save to the college system will be no excuse for none submission of work by a deadline if the files are lost or corrupted

All assignments graded and returned to you must be placed in your own student file which must remain in college.

All work within the assignments must be your own work. It should not be copied from another student nor cut & pasted from articles on the internet. This is regarded as malpractice and a formal enquiry will follow.
