DECADECAAbout this Program CoursesDECA prepares emerging leaders andentrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality,and management in high schools and collegesaround the globe. The DECA program at CooperCity High School is divided into two pathways.They are Entrepreneurship and Hospitality &Tourism.

EntrepreneurshipStudents in the Entrepreneurship Pathway willlearn various aspects of business including but notlimited to legal business structures, businessenvironment, human resources, marketing, andfinance. All students are required to join DECA andwill participate in the many competitions thisorganization has to offer. Seniors will participatein the VEI program which prepares students forthe real-world through a year-long simulation of astartup business that operates in a virtualeconomy with other schools in the program.Students in these courses will have theopportunity to earn a QuickBooks and MicrosoftOffice certification.

Hospitality & TourismThe Academy of Hospitality & Tourism (AOHT)helps students chart career paths in one of theworld's largest industries, from hotel and eventmanagement to sports and entertainment.Students who matriculate through this programwill obtain necessary career-specific instruction inhospitality and tourism marketing management.Students will learn sales and managementtechniques, marketing principles, andentrepreneurship skills necessary to succeed inthe hospitality and tourism industry. All studentsare required to join DECA and will participate inthe many competitions this organization has tooffer.
