Cyberbullying is the use of e-mail, instant messaging, chat rooms, pagers, cell phones, or other forms of information technology to deliberately harass, threaten, or intimidate someone
Humiliation doesn’t end after onlookers disappear
It is hard for the victim to escape

Girls are twice as likely as boys to be bullied and perpetrators of cyberbullying.
35% of teens have been bullied online
56% of cyberbullying happens in chatrooms

BY PARENTS:
Monitor children online
Know what your children are doing online
Talk to children about how to treat others online and how they should be treated
Make restrictions
BY VICTIMIZED TEENS:
Block communication
Delete before you read a bully’s message
Save and show an adult
Don’t respond to the perpetrator

6/21 said they have received mean or nasty text messages 5 times or more in the last six months, 7/21 said they received them 4 or less times.
GOOD NEWS: 15/21 said in the last 6 months
they have not been in an online fight
16/21 said they have not received threatening online messages

GOOD NEWS: 10/24 girls said that their
parent HAVE talked to them about how to treat others online
10/24 sais there parents occasionally check what they’re doing online
23/24 have a facebook or myspace
21/24 have not received threatening messages online
From the survey it seems that text messaging is probably the most popular form of cyber bullying in our high school.
More people are hurt from text messaging than any other form of information technology according to our survey
This is how cyber bullying works.
Digital harrasment: a picture can be taken with the Victim doing something embarassing. One picture Can be forwarded throughout the school withinMinutes with the technology we have.
Same way with the internet.
