CUTTING EDGE A Biannual Newsletter from the Department of Mechanical Engineering
Director’s Message From the desk of HOD
Dr. B.C.Sharma
It is a pleasure to see the endeavors of
Department of Mechanical Engineering, In-
derprastha Engineering College (IPEC) through
their biannual newsletter “Cutting Edge”. The news-
letter offers a glimpse of students activities and
achievements, faculty achievements, industrial in-
teraction and overall development of a department
in a semester. I congratulate the entire “Cutting
Edge” team for publishing this edition and extend
my congratulations to all the contributors. I believe
that newsletter is a medium that will bridge the gap
between achievements and publicity. I hope that
this culture of releasing Newsletter continue for
ever and become a quoted example for others to
follow.
I wish the newsletter a grand success.
Dr. H. K. Rai
We are delighted to welcome this is-
sue of our biannual newsletter which reports on a
number of significant advances the department
has made in the last few months. As always, the
Newsletter reports on the various achievements in
areas ranging from infrastructure development,
seminar, workshop, industrial interaction, student
placement and faculty publications. While the news
section gives a comprehensive coverage of the
various happenings the department has witnessed
over the first half of this year, the publication sec-
tion lists the series of research papers appeared in
peer-reviewed journals or presented in national or
international symposia during this period.
I wish persistence and continuity to our newslet-
ter.

sists of a hollow cylindrical
shell rotating about its axis.
The axis of the shell may be
