Growing up• Curtis Robinson was born on August 25, 1919 in
Orangeburg, South Carolina.• He was the youngest of 6 children and everyone
called him C.C.• C.C graduated from Claftin College in 1940 with a
degree in chemistry.• C.C. did not get many job offers because he was
black.
Making a difference
• C.C. joined the Army in 1942 and was accepted into the pilot program at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama.
• C.C. became one of the Tuskegee Airmen, who were the first black pilots in the history of the U.S. military

Be Proactive• C.C. volunteered to serve in the Army to
defend America in World War II

every mission with victory in mind.
