Welcome / BienvenidosDear Family,
This journey began long ago by those who camebefore us and dedicated much time and effort toresearch our family roots and in the process,
preserved our family history.
Some of us inherited the genealogy bug fromour parents and have continued that legacy
during the past several years.
This historical family reunion gives us theopportunity to pay tribute to the generation
of our parents and our ancestorsby duly recognizing and honoring
those family members, whowith their interest, passion and dedication have rightly earned
the title of “Guardians” of our family history.
Thank you for making the effort to be partof this historical reunion.
Let’s continue the legacy of our “Guardians”for the benefit of our future generations. We have an interesting and colorful history
that it must be preserved.
With love and affection.

Hidden Chateau& Gardens23130 ShermanWay, West Hills, CA 91307
The Hidden Chateau & Gardens is a mission-stylehistorical building, bearing a strong resemblanceto Misión San Luis Rey de España. It was built in
1934-1936 by film, stage and TV actor, Francis Lederer, past honorary mayor of the community of Canoga Park.
This location was appropriately selected for theCrow(e) Family Reunion to add a historical backdrop
to this important event.
Dr. James P. Crow Smith migrated to South Americaas a young doctor in 1869. He married in 1872
at the age of 30 in Paita, Peru and became a widowa year later. He married for the second time in 1875
to Clara Rugel Ramirez, a younger sisterof his first wife, in Tumbes, Peru. He had 16 children.
The first six were born in Tumbes, Peru. The family relocated to Machala, Ecuador
about the time when the construction of the railroadbegan in 1887-1888. The rest, as they say, is history.
Take the time to learn about our family history.
Stay connected!
Our thanks to Jill Milligan, owner ofthe Hidden Chateau & Gardens for being our host.

22450 ShermanWay, West Hills, CA 91307
Thanks to senior pastor Glenn Kirby, our family official reunion and tribute ceremony
will take place at The Connecting Place.
This is another great coincidence of a series of eventsthat have come together to make this historical event
a memorable one.
Appropriately enough, the hall where the reunionwill be staged is called The Connecting Place. Both of spiritual and historical significance.
Here we will pay tribute and honor the generationsof our parents and our ancestors, recognizing
their labor of love and dedication as “Guardians”of our family history.
Take the time to preserve important documents, photographs and anything else of
historical significance for our family.
Stay connected!
Special thanks to theWest Valley Christian Churchfor being our host on this special day.
