The evening starts with a delightful family meal and fellowship time. Dinner is served until 6:00 PM each night. The kids will have a blast “shopping” for their favorite mini-craft - making jewelry and a few suprises, at the Nicean Marketplace & Bazaar. BEWARE OF WET DOGS! We will also have an entertaining and humorous introduction from our canine hosts each night! Our VBS program has music, meet & greets with famous Church Fathers, games and MORE! Kids preschool age to grade 5 will participate in the VBS program. High school and junior high (must have completed 6th grade) will be our group leaders. Adults will attend an informative and enjoyable study on the early church and adoption of the Nicene Creed. Childcare for infants and toddlers (not yet potty trained) will be provided. Each night will finish with a short vespers service in the OSL sanctuary designed to resemble those practiced by early Christians in the third century A.D.
Credo VBS is an Experience for the whole family!
June 15th - 18th 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Credo is the Latin word for Creed. Our VBS will explore one of the
church’s fundamental creeds: The Nicene Creed.
This is Christianity’s basic statement
of belief.
You will be talking about it ALL SUMMER LONG!

Our Savior Lutheran School presented its annual Oratio Eloquentium competition, on April 29. Oratio Eloquentium is Latin for eloquent speaking. This competition for the 6th - 8th grade students emphasized three of the five cannons of Rhetoric - style, memory, and delivery. Students memorized verses, poems, speeches and letters from the Literature Learn By Heart curriculum.
The winners of the 2015 Oratio Eloquentium were: 1st Place - Gabe Mount, presenting Shakespeare’s Henry V “Saint Crispin’s Day”, 2nd Place - Eli Fischer presenting Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”, and 3rd Place - Bella Adams also presenting Shakespeare’s Henry V “Saint Crispin’s Day.” The other finalists were Emily Cherington and Madeline Stephens presenting Queen Elizabeth the First’s “Golden Speech,” and Skylar Armstrong presenting Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream.” All the students did an excellent job showcasing the Learn By Heart curriculum, the hard work and practice they dedicated, and the eloquence and talent God has given them.
