Cougar Conduct
Cougars are expected to… ROAR Respectful: Raise your hand to speak. Stay in
your seat unless given permission to move about the room. Do not talk when the teacher or another speaker is talking. Say please and thank you. Take care of all school property. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Do not make any derogatory remarks. Only positive attitudes allowed!
Organized: Always have your materials and books before class begins. This means have ALL assignments completed when you come to class.
Attentive: Keep your focus on the task or the person to whom attention is to be directed.
Responsible: Be intentional about your work and behavior, accepting responsibility for your actions.
Consequences
Warning (verbal and/or non-verbal) Silent Lunch
IF a student receives two silent lunches, team will conference with the student, and parent will be contacted (phone).
Parent Conference Team Detention
If a student receives three silent lunches. School Detention Office Referral **In addition: School Dress Code will be
strictly enforced. Please be familiar with the Auburn city School dress code found in the Drake student planner.
Tardiness
Tardiness: is harmful to the student’s educational process and disruptive to class.
1st and 2nd tardy will be recorded, but no
disciplinary action will be taken. 3rd tardy to class/school = 1 school
detention 4th tardy to class/school = 2 school
detentions 5th tardy to class/school = 3 school
detentions and Parent Conference. 6th tardy to class/school = ISS placement 7th tardy to class/school = 1 day of School
Suspension
IE Standards
In IE students are expected to – Bring their book and notebook to
class EVERY DAY. Participate in class through reading
(silently or aloud), completing class work, activities, quizzes and other assignments (group or individual).
Students may be working on reading/language skills or math skills.
You will receive a numerical grade for IE class based on the activities assigned
Late Work
Cougars are expected to turn in all assignments on time
Didn’t do your homework? You will be assigned working
lunch until the assignment is complete
All late assignments will be accepted for reduced credit
Backpacks
It is school policy that students store their backpacks in their lockers during the day.
UNLESS…you have 5th period math, in this case you will pack your bag for the end of the day after 4th period and take your backpack to 5th period
No backpacks in science, language arts, or social studies
Planners
Please carry your planners with you ALL day; EXCEPT to P.E.
Remember… The administrators (and other
teachers) expect you to have your planner with you when you are in the hall
Even though you may use the restroom during passing as much as you like, you will have to use your planner to get into the bathroom during
