Tution fees and costsThe program is subject to charge. The tuion fee amounts to
5,000 Euros per Semester and 20,000 Euros for the enre
duraon of study. The rate covers all costs associated with
aending the program, yet it does not include housing costs or
living expenses. TU Berlin Campus El Gouna explicitly supports
its students in their efforts to obtain scholarships or other
sources of external funding. For updated informaon on tuion
fees and scholarship opportunies please refer to our website.
Application processThe advanced Master's degree program in energy Engineering
commences once a year in October with the intake of the new
batch of Master's students. The applicaon period for the
upcoming academic term opens at the beginning of the
respecve year. Please refer to our website for updated
informaon on the applicaon process, deadlines and required
documents.
LocationsPerusing a Master's degree at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna offers
the exceponal opportunity to study at two very disnct
locaons that differ tremendously not only in size but also in
their social, cultural, and ecological characteriscs. This unique
set-up constutes ideal condions for students of Energy
Engineering to apply their newly gained knowledge to a wide
number of diverse condions and environments.
The town of El Gouna, located 20 km north of Hurghada
Internaonal Airport, is nestled charmingly between arficial
lagoons on Egypt's stunning Red Sea coast. The recently opened
TU Berlin Campus El Gouna is sited in the center of this
reposeful environment, offering ideal study condions through
its outstanding infrastructure and award-winning architecture.In sharp contrast to the tranquility of El Gouna, the German
capital of Berlin boosts with all the social and cultural amenies
of a modern metropolis. Located in the heart of this exing city,
TU Berlin's mother campus, which accommodates some 32,000
students, displays an impressive and movang backdrop for
academic advancement and research.

Program Curriculum
The master’s degree program in Energy Engineering
is divided into the following study areas:
The Master's degree program offers advanced educaon for
students and young professionals holding a Bachelor's degree or
academic equivalent in engineering or natural sciences.The topics covered during the course of studies were tailor-
made on the basis of research projects and enduring
experiences of Technische Universität Berlin in the MENA
region. On compleon of the program, successful students will
graduate with an official Master's of Science degree in Energy
Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin.
This program focuses on fundamental aspects of energy
engineering, including aspects of energy conversion and
renewable energies. While it integrates the latest scienfic
developments and methods from faculty and researchers, it is
also highly applied in nature. The program fosters process-
orientaon and interdisciplinary thinking among students. To
complement the classroom experience, interdisciplinary teams
of students from both this program and the Master's degree
programs in Urban Development and Water Engineering work
on projects that address typical theorecal and applied
problems.
The Master's degree program in Energy Engineering begins each
winter semester (October –March). The majority of the courses
are held at the Campus El Gouna in Egypt. All Courses are taught
in English.
The main focal points of the curriculum are:- The basics of energy engineering, with parcular aenon
to fundamental thermodynamic and economic aspects;
- Energy conversion techniques and integraon of renewable
energies, with praccal experiments involving convenonal
conversion systems (such as combuson engine, gas
turbine and steam plant); s
- Refrigeraon and air condioning under special climate
condions, especially solar cooling;
- Energy for buildings, especially primary energy
consumpon for heang and cooling equipment, along
with calculaon methods for planning of sophiscated
homes and offices;
- Electrical energy engineering, especially power
engineering, with special consideraon of electrical drives
of wind power plants and the integraon of renewable
energies;
- Energy economics and systems, focusing on complex
energy systems and the integraon of renewable energy in
markets, ensuring a secure supply and commodity markets;
- So skills, intercultural competence and research methods;
- Praccal interdisciplinary project and industry internship.
Admission to the program is limited to 30 students per year.
Students have the opportunity to choose among elecves, to
determine the subject of their project and their Master's thesis
individually. Students receive extensive mentoring and support
from professors and research associates of TU Berlin. Due to the
spacious campus they can work in their own project room.

Target group and requirementsAn academic background in the form of a relevant Bachelor’s
degree or equivalent is an obligatory requirement for all
Master’s programs at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna. As
professional experience is considered to be a valuable asset for
the course profile, praccal work experience in a subject related
field is mandatory as well. Addional qualificaons, such as
social commitment, publicaons, parcipaon in extra-curricular
academic events, language abilies, and IT skills will also be
taken into consideraon.A qualificaon in energy related engineering like mechanical,
electrical, or chemical engineering, or similar is required.
