Definition of steam turbine
A steam turbine is a device that extracts thermal
energy from pressurized steam and uses it to do
mechanical energy on a rotating output shaft.

• Steam first strikes on guide blades carrier and then HP rotor.
• Single flow casing

Rotor of HP Turbine• It is made of mild steel.
Casing of HP Turbine There are two types of casing in HP steam turbine.
Inner casing which is made of mild steel .
Inner casing which covers rotor and protects leakage
Outer casing cover whole rotor and inner casing arrangement .

• Blades of HP steam turbine is made of steel alloys
• HP blades are the smallest blades of the steam turbine
• It is made on the special types of CNC machine which
works in 5-axises
