Friday 9:00am - 12noon
DAVENING and TOGETHERNESS It is preferable that even when one must daven alone, our davening should be synchronized with the community minyan.
If you will not be attending a minyan, please do join us in time. Weekday Mincha/Ma’ariv time will be at 5:15 pm. (You must be preregistered to attend in person.)
The weekday Shacharit Minyan begins at 7:30 am. (You must be preregistered to attend in person.)
You can also connect to Mincha/Ma’ariv on zoom https://zoom.us/j/83599025152 (PW: mincha)
Earliest time for weekday Mincha (S-Th) is 12:35pm When not davening with a minyan recommended times
for Weekday Ma’ariv: After 6:05pm (Tzait) After 5:29pm (Shkiah)
Note: We rely on the leniency to daven Ma’ariv after Plag when physically davening with a minyan. When a minyan is not available, the earliest Ma’ariv should begin, Sunday-Thursday, is after sunset (see times above). In order to extend the holiness of Shabbat, we may daven Friday’s Shabbat Ma’ariv after Plag, this week after 4:22pm. One doing so should daven Mincha before Plag.
May our united prayers bring added blessings to our community and Klal Yisrael.

A Note About Your Minyan Reservation
Our commitment is to your safety. As such, the Sanctuary is set according to guidelines for social distancing. This commitment
yields less than 25% of our pre-Covid capacity. This is adequate for our weekday davening, but falls short of our Shabbat needs. We have observed that not all of our registered minyan participants
attend davening on a weekly basis. As such, we will be “overbooking” based on a conservative formula. We believe this
approach will be successful until we establish a third Shabbat morning minyan. We ask for your understanding and cooperation. If you arrive at Shul and seating is full that week, please daven in
the Sukkah. Chairs will be provided.

Upcoming Book Reviews MONDAYS AT 8:00 PM
The behind-the-scenes story of how the United States forged its wartime alliance with Britain, told from the perspective of three key American players in London: Edward R. Murrow, the handsome, chain-smoking head of CBS News in Europe;
Averell Harriman, the hard-driving millionaire who ran FDR’s Lend-Lease program in London; and John Gilbert Winant, the shy, idealistic U.S.
ambassador to Britain. Each man formed close ties with Winston Churchill—so much so that all became romantically involved with members of the prime minister’s family. Drawing from a variety of primary sources, Lynne Olson
skillfully depicts the dramatic personal journeys of these men who, determined to save Britain from Hitler, helped convince a cautious Franklin Roosevelt and
reluctant American public to back the British at a critical time.

The Front Door Has Moved to the East Wing
The entrance to the shul is now through the door on the southeast corner of the building, closest to the lake. We appreciate your patience
while waiting for us to answer the door.
On Shabbat, this door is only an entrance. To ensure maximum safety during COVID-19, please follow these exit directions.
Exit the Main Sanctuary through one of the doors adjacent to the bimah and walk through the sukkah. You may enter the Beit Midrash, then
proceed to your left through the double doors next to the Aron Kodesh. Make sure to pause and say a Pasuk (eg Shema Yisrael) as you
pass through the Beit Midrash. Signs and arrows are posted to help guide you.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in helping us all stay safe and healthy.
Our Sukkah is always available for those who wish to physically connect
to the davening in the Main Sanctuary. We keep at least one door
open to the Sukkah. You may let us know if you need a second door open. There are chairs set in the
Sukkah, as well. Regular registration and protocol procedures are required.
You MUST be registered to attend Minyanim. Sign-up on our home page http://www.torahohrboca.org
You may only register if you meet our current health
requirements: https://www.torahohrboca.org/covid-safety-policies
If you are currently registered, please don’t sign up again.
We Look Forward to Greeting You in Shul!
Please Note: Each chair is aligned with green
tape at rear legs. Please keep chairs in the
designated space. When standing, please be mindful
of proper distancing between worshippers.
Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your minyan or class.
Do not enter the Sanctuary if a previous group has not yet finished.
Limited seating is available in the Library and Beit Midrash if you need to wait for the previous minyan/class to conclude. Masks & Social Distancing are required in these rooms.
Maintain Kavod Beit HaKeneset, proper respect for the Sanctuary; refrain from social conversations.
All registrants should bring a photo ID on Shabbat morning. It will speed up the guard’s ability to locate your name on the roster, assisting in a quick entry into shul.
Please Note: If you are on the Wait List for Shabbat morning Davening, you may
start to daven in the Sukkah. If a seat is available as of 30 minutes after the start of davening, you may enter the Shul and take the available seat.
If you are participating in Shul davening, please be mindful to observe proper social distancing from those who have recently returned to the community and are in their self-isolation period.
Regular attendance is required at the minyanim for which one has registered. When demand for seating is greater than available seats (as is the current status with the 9:00 AM Shabbat Minyan) the Shul reserves the right to withdraw the registration of those who do not attend regularly. We understand there will be some occasional absences and some extenuating circumstances.
CONGREGATION TORAH OHR BS”D UPDATED POLICIES FOR KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE
(October 2020, Tishrei 5781) We are enjoying the seasonal reappearance of our cherished congregants. In welcoming our returning friends and neighbors, let’s acknowledge that the Corona-19 pandemic is far from over. There were numerous “surges” and “upticks” in communities where the basic rules were ignored. We cannot afford complacency in our sheltered and vulnerable senior community; everyone must adhere to the rules. One misstep in introducing a person with Covid-19 could result in a brushfire that might, chas v’sholom, impact many of our congregants. Therefore, in light of the continuing situation of pikuach nefesh and the Torah obligation to protect our health and that of our fellow Jews, the Shul is obliged to set a policy that protects all of our members.
All individuals returning to our community should follow one of the following pathways, even when returning after a brief stay elsewhere (e.g. from a simcha or a business trip):
a) Anyone arriving from out-of-state must self-isolate for 14 days and NOT ATTEND SHUL. b) If you want to shorten the self-isolation time, after arriving in Florida wait 3-4 days and then take a COVID-19 Rapid Test. When the results come back negative, only then are you welcome to register and engage in the minyanim. c) Anyone who has recovered from a bout of COVID-19 up north is NOT exempt from options a) or b). There is no proof of a permanent immunity.
In addition, we remind everyone of the basic rules…. ● Individuals who are quarantined due to exposure to a COVID-positive individual should remain at home. Period. ● Anyone who has fever or respiratory symptoms such as a cough, chest discomfort, or shortness of breath should remain at home. Period. They should NOT COME TO SHUL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This includes avoiding outdoor minyanim. ● EVERYONE MUST REGISTER FOR MINYANIM (or re-register on return from an out-of-state absence). Registration is best done on the CTO website or by calling the office. Should COVID strike, chas v’sholom, we have to inform all those who were in the minyan and in contact with the potentially affected person. Furthermore, to walk into a minyan without registering poses a potential health risk, may take away a seat from someone registered, or lead to a confrontation when the person is asked to leave. ● Finally, masks that cover the mouth and nose should always be worn when interacting with others in shul, indoors, and outdoors. In addition, distancing of six feet must be maintained in Shul (and on the grounds of Century Village).
We strongly recommend that the local Association minyanim adopt the same policies and procedures. Let’s all be safe out here. Thank you for your understanding and support of those most vulnerable and concerned amongst us. Let’s pray that this makah (plague) is soon eradicated with a vaccine or otherwise. We look forward to a return to normalcy when memos of this sort will be unnecessary. Rabbi Benjamin Yasgur Jonas Waizer PhD, President
