bus service provider that operates a majority of
the city’s local bus and its RAPID routes, is
currently in labor negotiations with its operators
union. Negotiations will continue in December.
A labor agreement vote could result in a strike.

Vehicle and system testing began on November 8 from 19th Ave.
and Montebello to Dunlap. Trains will be seen sporadically and will
run more regularly as we approach the opening of the extension on
March 19, 2016.
Safety tips:
Obey all traffic signals and message boards.
Remember high voltage wires will be live as trains operate.
Always use designated pedestrian crosswalks.
Light rail trains are quiet. Look for flashing headlights and listen
for warning bells and horn.

Conducting the TRP Annual Survey
ShareTheRide.com
602.262.RIDE (7433)
Why survey?
Assesses current single occupancy
vehicle (SOV) rate and SOV miles rate
Higher response rate = clearer picture of
employees habits & preferences
County may require a resurvey if
response rate is below 60% percent
Alternative to resurvey is “statistical
penalty,” counting all non-respondents as
SOVs or receiving a notice of violation for
a low response rate
30 days to complete the survey
ShareTheRide.com
602.262.RIDE (7433)
E-survey vs. Paper survey
Request e-surveys when you complete
the employer report form
Available for some or all employees and
students
Multiple entries from same computer OK
Easy, less waste
Saves time, energy and you from having
to “track down” missing paper surveys
ShareTheRide.com
602.262.RIDE (7433)
The E-Survey Process
TC reports number of employees to Maricopa County
County emails TC a web link and site-specific code
TC forwards to staff
E-survey window operational for 30 days
TC can check response rate and send reminders as needed
Intranet option gives employers additional functionality; discuss details with Maricopa County staff.
ShareTheRide.com
602.262.RIDE (7433)
The Paper Survey Process TC reports number of
employees to Maricopa County
County ships surveys to TC, separated by site
TC forwards to staff for completion
Surveys are due back to Maricopa County in 30 days
Surveys are numbered for tracking

Survey Questions 1 – 3
1. Choose the appropriate work schedule. Note: Working
part-time 3 days per week is not the same as a
compressed work week of 3, 12-hour days.
2. Start and end time – if it varies, average.
3. Modes for the days you commute to work – 2 days drive
alone, 3 days carpool, etc.

Summary Analysis
Why is a high response
rate good?
What happens if the
response rate is less
than 60%?
What do the SOV
percentages mean?
