Installing the VapoChill LightSpeed [AC]TM
Preparing the case
Figure 1
Step 1
Install the supplied template on the bottom of your case. Install it so that the centerline is aligned with the center of your case, and with the front end aligning with the front of your case. To prevent the template to move during the work on your case, use pieces of tape to hold it in place.

Step 2
Drill four Ø10mm mounting holes in the bottom of the case. The holes are marked on the template.
Figure 3 Figure 4
Step 3
Cut away the piece marked on the template. This is where the Evaporator hose will enter the case.
Start by drilling a hole in the two inside corners, to get the rounding. Then cut between the holes, along the line on the template. Also cut from the side of the case and to the holes, to get the entire marked area removed.

Preparing the Socket (Optional but highly recommended)
Figure 16
Step 1
Apply some of the supplied Heat Conduction Compound on the components inside the socket. Make sure that they are well covered.
Put some of the supplied Heat Conduction Compound on the socket, where the CPU pins will be.
!! ATTENTION !!
Do ONLY use the Heat Conduction Compound supplied by Asetek Inc. in the socket. Other Heat Conduction Compounds may be electrically conductive and therefore cause shortcuts in the Socket, damaging the hardware.
!! ATTENTION !!

Figure 20
Step 3
Insert the CPU in the Socket and take it back out again, and check that all the pins have been covered with Heat Conduction Compound.
Also cover the components in the center of the CPU with a layer of Heat Conduction Compound.
If the pins and other components are not covered, there is a risk of corrosion, if it should happen that a little air should get to the socket.

Installing the ChillControl Step 1
Figure 7 (differences might occur in design)
!! ATTENTION !!
Do NOT power on the system (i.e. ChillControl or PC) before everything is connected properly.
Do NOT connect any cables when power is supplied to the system.
Always turn on power to the VapoChill LightSpeed system before turning on the computers PSU. Some computers may start once power to the PSU is applied thus starting the system unintended. If this happens the ChillControl will try to shut down the computer by holding down the POWER button until the motherboard shuts down.
!! ATTENTION !!

Step 2
Please make sure that the jumper selector located near TEMP1 is set to NTC resistor measurements.
1-2 NTC sensor
3-4 Pt1000 sensor
(not applicable in this version)
!! ATTENTION !!
Do NOT use TEMP1 with the VapoChill Lightspeed cooling system. This connector is reserved for the evaporator temperature sensor. Using this will result in false temperature readings.
!! ATTENTION !!

Step 3
Connect one of the HDD cables from your PSU to the “AUX 5V / 12V” connector on the ChillControl.
Figure 45
Step 4
The black cable coming from the cooling unit is the control cable responsible for relay, condenser / exhaust fan and evaporator sensor signalling. The cable is mounted on the “CC3 cable connect” connector. The red wire aligns with pin1 marked with a small triangle.

Step 7
The blue / white twisted cable connect on your motherboards power switch connector and to the “PowerMB” connector on the ChillControl.
Mount your power switch connector (from your case) on the “PowerSW” connector on the ChillControl board.
Figure 49
Step 8
The USB cable mounts on the “USB” connector. Red wire aligns with pin1. The other end of the cable is mounted on an internal motherboard USB connector. Red wire aligns with pin1 / Vbus (consult your motherboard manual if you are in doubt).

Step 9
Default settings
Figure 50
Should it happen that you alter the security settings so that the system will not boot etc. it is possible to return to default settings.
Short-circuiting the connectors for TEMP2, TEMP3 and TEMP4 loads the default settings into the controller again. This needs to be done with the processor receiving power – indicating by the blue LED on the controller.
After loading the default settings, be sure to remove the jumpers again – otherwise your system will run the default settings and user settings simultaneously causing strange behaviour.
