OPERATING AND SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for choosing Com-Pak. This operating and service guide will provide you
with instructions on how best to use your compressor.
Your Com-Pak compressor has been manufactured to meet Australian Safety Standards. To obtain the
best results and operate the compressor safely, it is important that you read the safety instructions
below.
POWER-CORD CAUTION
Handle the power cord by the plug only. Do not pull out the plug by tugging the cord and never touch
the power cord when your hands are wet. The power cord should be routed such that they are not
likely to be stepped on or run over. A damaged cord can cause a fire or give you an electrical shock.
Check the power point, that your unit is to be operated from, is correctly earthed and in good working
order. CAUTION- Long extension leads result in voltage drop, which can cause motor burnout or
damage.
AUTOMATICLLY STARTING (240 VOLTS AND 415 VOLTS MODELS)
Your Com-Pak compressor can starts automatically when air is being used or the pressure drops to the
cut in pre-set power setting. CAUTION- Do not remove the belt guard or work on the compressor
(e.g. Check belt tension, filling oil, adjust pressure setting or moving unit.) without first disconnecting
the power cord.
CAUTION- Do not operate the compressor with out the belt guard fitted.
SAFTEY VALVE
The safety valve is manufactured and Pre-set set to meet Australian
Standards.
CAUTION- Do not pull the ring on top of the valve to drain tank of air
doing so can damage the valve and cause the safety valve to malfunction
and leak continuously.
INSTALLATION
LOCATE YOUR UNIT
1.) In the cleanest possible place.
2.) In a well ventilated and dry area.
3.) In an accessible place for serving.
4.) On level ground with the belt guard to the rear.
5.) Unit must vibrate, loose mount or similar mounts if fixing in position.
Damage caused by incorrect installation is not covered by warranty.
OPERATING AND SERVICING INSTRUCTION
COMPRESSOR PUMP
To ensure the unit has the correct amount of oil, visually check the oil level in the
sight glass located on the bottom left hand side of the compressor pump. (The
correct level of oil is marked on the sight glass.)
CAUTION- Check the oil level DAILY and top up if necessary.
CAUTION- Only use compressor oil. (RPM 100, ISO 100, SP 100,)
ELECTRIC MOTOR OVERLOAD (240 VOLTS MODLES ONLY)
Due to low voltage or overload the reset button on your electric motor my
automatically stop power flowing to your motor. The reset will have to be pushed
prior to the unit restarting. If the overload continues to disconnect, your compressor
may need servicing by Com-Pak.
The overload is located on to of the electric motor capacitor box. (The red button)
PRESSURE SWITCH (240 VOLTS AND 415 VOLTS MODELS)
Unless otherwise requested, the pressure control switch is pre-set.
Unloading pressure (Cut in) 90 PSI
Loading pressure (Cut out) 120 PSI
The working pressure can be re-set or changed, contact Com-Pak regarding
adjustment. Maximum cut out pressure is 150 PSI
(Automatic overload is located in the 415 Volts pressure switch)
CAUTION- Only turn off the compressor wile the unit is running at the pressure
switch. The Switch has an automatic head unloader system that lets your motor
restart without load.
DRAINING AIR RECEIVER
Loosen the drain tap located under the receiver to remove moisture.
Drain air tank every eight hours or four hours depending on the workload and
moisture content of the atmosphere.
CAUTION- Failure to do so will course corrosion in the air receiver and excessive
moisture in air tools.
OPERATING AND SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS
APPLY BELT TENSION
The v-belt should be adjusted that a declination of 10-15mm will be obtained when a finger applies
pressure to the middle point of the v-belt.
CAUTION- A loose v-belt will course slipping and result in the compressor pump slowing down
under load. Excessive tension on v-belts can be even more detrimental than too little tension, affecting
not only the belts, but also over loading the motor, bearing and shafts.
DAILY REQUIREMENTS
1.) Drain air receiver.
2.) Check oil level on the pumps sight glass.
3.) Check oil lever on motor dip stick
4.) Check power lead and plug top are in good working order.
5.) Inspect pumps and motor air intake filter are free of dirt and foreign material.
6.) Check all safety equipment are in place and are in good working
Order. (e.g. Belt guard, switch cover, motor capacitor cover box and
Safety valve.)
CAUTION- Before doing any maintenance make sure the controlling pressure switch is
in the OFF position and the power cord is disconnected from the power supply.
PETROL AND DIESEL MODELS- Ensure that your engine (sump) is filled with good motor oil.
Only use the correct grade as specified by the manufacturer instruction book that is enclosed with
your compressor.

FIXED MOUNTING
Depending on where the compressor is mounted will determine the best type of mount. Com-Pak will
supply some rubber pads, but if not suitable the owner will need to purchase mounts or make better
pads. It is not suitable to use pads supplied and then render pads useless by bolting down too tightly-
i.e. Nuts must be loose so as mount can vibrate. Failure to do so will cause damage to your compressor
such as air receiver cracking, pulley and belt failure. This will not be covered by the compressor
WARRANTY.
Or if your stationary air compressor is not being bolted down, Com-Pak will supply the flowing rubber
feet.
AIR HOSE AND FITTINGS
Use good quality hose and fittings as supplied by Com-Pak. Small leaks cause excessive compressor
wear and excessive power bills.

CONTROL VALVE (PETROL AND DIESEL MODELS)
All Com-Pak compressors engines are fitted with automatic unloaders and automatic throttle control.
This means that the engine revs to its power setting when air is being used and then automatically slows to
idle while air is not being used.
The working pressure can be re-set or changed, contact Com-Pak regarding adjustment. Maximum
working pressure is 150 PSI
