JMA new Beta membersAt the 2013-14 National Beta Club Induction, the John Milledge Academy club doubled its numbers to bring the total num-ber of members to 82. The National Beta Club is an academic service and leadership organization that strives to ‘ead by serv-ing others.’ Each year, the club volunteers more than 1,200 hours of service to make the community a better place. Currentstudent officers are: Anna Beck, Ansley Prosperi, Ansley Roberts, and Julia Hinson. The club is sponsored by Jessica Jones.
On April 8, Jacquelyn Bailey, Title 1Parent-Services coordinator invitedCathy of Cathy’s Eye Care to come toCreekside Elementary School to repair,adjust, and do whatever was needed toget students ready for the CRCT week.Because of the amount of reading thatis required, it is very important forthose students who wear glasses havethe best vision possible when takingthe CRCT. Cathy has been very instru-mental for years in donating her timeand materials to make sure she hashelped a child in the Baldwin CountySchool System when it comes to theirvision. Our hat is off to Cathy’s EyeCare!

GMC students complete car projects
Ma. Jennifer Spencer's eighth-graders at GMC Prep School recentlycompleted their Car Projects. They studied linear regression andresearched used cars to determine the best deal for their 'dream' carwhen they can drive one day. They calculated slopes, y-intercepts,and x-intercepts by finding the results with rounding with calcula-tions on paper and by the calculator, then compared the findings.They presented their findings to the class with a short presentation.
