NEWS RELEASE – “GOLDEN GATE HIGH JROTC ENJOYS MARCHING IN PARADE”
We recently told you about the Golden Gate High School (GGH) JROTC taking
part in the City of Naples Independence Day Parade for the second straight year.
More than 50 GGH JROTC cadets marched to the cadence of the JROTC drum corps.
The JROTC color guard lead the formation, displaying our National Colors and the
GGH JROTC banner. Senior Army JROTC Instructor Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Paul
Garrah was very happy to see the great turnout. “It was wonderful, and there were a
lot of school supporters in the crowd.”
In addition to the parade, the GGH JROTC is very involved with the community.
Some of the numerous activities and services they provide include: vision and hearing
screening for elementary and middle school students in support of the Collier County
Health Department, support to a variety of veterans’ and patriotic events, city
cleanups and beautification, Toys for Tots, Heartwalk, Relay for Life, and ceremonial
support to local civic groups. The GGH JROTC volunteers more than 6,000 hours per
year to schools and the local community.
