TIME-OUT IN-CLASS ISOLATION
No student will be allowed to disrupt the learning of his or her classmates. If misbehaving occurs, you will be asked
to go to the Time-Out location and follow directions outlined in the folder and your behavior will be recorded on
your behavior log.

should be given to the teacher.
ENTERING THE CLASSROOM
1. Enter the classroom in a calm, quiet manner. 2. Go directly to your assigned seat and take out
materials.3. Follow procedures and place book bags in the
designated areas. You will not go back to book bags during class.
4. Take a seat. Once in, stay in!5. Immediately start on the bellwork located on the
Smart/White Board.
SHARPENING YOUR PENCIL(S)
• Sharpen your pencil(s) at the beginning of class.
• You should have a few backup pencils that are ready to go in case one breaks.
• Getting up while the teacher is teaching isn’t allowed because it’s a distraction to others .

• Enter quietly and go to your assigned seat.• Drop Everything and Read (book or text)

TARDINESS You are expected to be in your seat when the tardy bell rings. If
you come in late and do not have a pass, quietly sign the tardy log at the front of the room. You are allowed three unexcused tardies for the nine weeks. The fourth unexcused tardy will result in a referral
and a call home. Also, you will be assigned detention (BSD,ASD, or ISS)
HALL PASSESNo passes will be issued the first and last ten minutes of class. You are allowed two passes (of any kind) per nine weeks. Use them wisely. In the rare case of an emergency, raise your hand and ask permission
from the teacher.

•Your class work will be in the tray labeled class work. •Turn in papers that show your BEST effort. Make sure your heading is on your paper. •When it’s time to collect paper(s), pass to the end of your row where they will be collected by the teacher.•Assignments are due at the end of class and are late if turned in after that.
WHEN YOU FINISH CLASS WORK EARLY . . .

to see if you missed anything or did something incorrectly.
●Check to see if the heading is written correctly on your paper.
● If the assignment is to be turned in, do so.●Quietly read a book or organize your planner●Complete missed or unfinished work●Write sentences using Word Wall
HOMEWORKHomework, when assigned, will be located on
the whiteboard under the section labeled “homework”. It will be due at the beginning of
the next class, so have it out on your desk ready to be picked up.
MAKEUP WORK When you are absent it is your responsibility to make up any work you missed. On the day you return, check the designated area. If
you need assistance, ask the teacher.
DURING INSTRUCTION
• Listen to the teacher/speaker with full attention.• No pencil sharpening, talking, moving about the
classroom, or whispering.• Ask permission to speak by raising your hand and
waiting quietly to be called on. • After instruction, make sure you understand the
concept(levels of understanding). • If not, raise your hand, wait patiently, and the teacher
will come to assist you.
WORKING TOGETHER IN GROUPS
● Keep your focus on the task at hand and only talk with your group.
● Do not let others do your share of the work for you. Do your part and cooperate with your group. Use low voices!

TAKING A TEST• Face forward and keep your eyes on your own

END OF CLASS DISMISSAL• Ten minutes before class ends, you will
