Chesapeake BayFoundation
Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) was founded in 1967,and is a non-profit organization.
It is made up of more than 140,000 active members and has a staff of approximately 165 full-time employees.
Active members speak out on behalf of the Chesapeake Bay, as well as educate the public.
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is the largest conservation organization dedicated solely to saving the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Goals of the CBF
Reducing pollution. Improving fisheries. Protecting and restoring natural
resources such as wetlands, forests, and underwater grasses.
Restoring an Environment that supports biodiversity.
Attracting tourist.
Chesapeake Watershed
The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in North America, encompassing a 168,000 sq. kilometer watershed that covers parts of six states including Pennsylvania.
