TheDP-7isahigh-accuracydigitaltouchprobethatbothautomatesCNCjobset-upandcancopycomplex3DpartgeometriesusingaCNCmillingmachineormachiningcenter.TheDP-7drasticallyimprovesdigitizingandmeasuringaccuracybyeliminatingthesourcesoferrorthataffectconductiveandmechanicalswitchtypetouchprobes.UsingCENTROID’snewsensingtechnologytheDP-7isneitheraconductiveormechanicalswitchtypeprobeandthereforeisnotaffectedbythelimitationsofthosetechnologies.

TheDP-7outperformsmechanicalprobeswithtentimesbetteraccuracywhileusinga140mmstylus.Evenwithashort40mmstylustheDP-7hastwicetheperformanceofamechanicalprobe.Asthestyluslengthincreasesamechanicalprobepro-ducesmoreandmoreerrorduetowhatiscalled“lobing”,wheremeasurementsvarydependingondirectionofprobecontact.TheDP-7’ssolidstatesensingtechnologygreatlyreducesthelobingeffectandproducesaccurateresultsthroughouttherangeofstyluslengths.WithitsrobustsensingtechnologyandgreateraccuracyandrepeatabilitytheDP-7producesbetterdigitizingdataandconsistentjobsetupsdayinanddayout.
