HUWS GRAY LEAGUE RESULTS
DRUIDS 5 BARRY TOWN 2
A stunning hat trick from man of the match Steve Blenkinsop helped Druids to overcome a resilient
Barry Town United team. Yet again Druids were slow out the blocks but managed to take the lead
when Steve Blenkinsop finished off a slick move by heading the opening goal. When the Barry
keeper let a Robbie James shot squirm past him for Druids second after half an hour it appeared to
be game over. But Barry were having none of that and kept pressing and eventually pulled one back
on the stroke of half time when a header rebounded off Druids bar and hit Gareth Edwards and
rolled into the net. Barry started the second half with the bit between their teeth and soon equalised
from a soft penalty. The goal gave Barry heart but although they enjoyed plenty of possession they
rarely threatened the Druids goal. Druids third came from a set piece when Adam Hesp knocked in a
loose ball. This goal totally deflated Barry and lifted Druids, and with Barry running out of steam,
Steve Blenkinsop completed his hat trick with two further well deserved individual goals. The final
score meant Druids had now scored 27 goals in the last 4 games. The 4th round draw made on
Sgorio saw Druids paired with Welsh Premier League Bala Town at Maes Tegid on 1st February in a
last 16 tie.

HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE LEAGUE
In a top of the table clash at Holyhead Road
Druids put on a polished display to replace Chirk
AAA in second place in the league, defeating
the home side 4-1. Druids were never in any
danger with their goals coming from leading
goal scorer Nick Hughes (2), Andy Pascoe and
Hari Gould, with the solitary reply for Chirk com-
ing from a Jack Edwards own goal.

SELECTED SUMMARY OF THE REST OF THE WELSH CUP GAMES
WELSH CUP 4th ROUND DRAW
Airbus UK Broughton v Bangor City
Bala Town v Cefn Druids
Carmarthen Town v TNS
Aberdare Town v Bodedern
Monmouth Town v CPD Porthmadog
Aberystwyth Town v Afan Lido
Newtown AFC v Holywell Town
Caersws v Cambran & Clydach
Holders Prestatyn Town were knocked out of the Welsh Cup at the first defence of their Trophy after they slumped 4-2 to Aberdare Town after three players were sent-off. Sean Hessey, Lee Hunt and skipper Dave Hayes were all shown the red card in South Wales. Caersws from the Huws Gray Alliance also stunned Welsh Premier League side Connahs Quay in extra-time. Carmarthen Town won their all-Welsh Premier League tie against Port Talbot Town where Jordan Follows turned from villain to hero after he missed a penalty, but scored twice. Sion Edwards is becoming a cult-hero in Bangor and his injury time winner saw Bangor City beat Rhyl at Belle Vue in the live tie after Steve Lewis had given the Lilywhites the lead. The lowest ranked side in Round 3, Sully Sports were unlucky as a Neil Thomas winner in injury time ended their fairytale at Y Traeth against Porthmadog. A goal in each half for Afan Lido, proved to be sufficient to guide them into the last sixteen of the FAW Welsh Cup against Huws Grays Alliance visitors Rhydymwyn, at the Marston’s Stadium.
TIES TO BE PLAYED ON 1st / 2nd FEBRUARY 2014
With 3 all Welsh Premier League ties, the draw throws up the possibility of only 3 Welsh
Premier League teams remaining in the quarter finals.
