OCTOBER 19 , 2014
At the end of today’s Gospel, Jesus leaves us with this message, “Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” Jesus, who knows the minds and thoughts
of the people, invites them to think and to choose at their best. How about us? We, perhaps, may think that this message leads us to a dual relationship: to be subordinate to God’s authority or to be under human power. What is next: holy and profane, good and bad, believers and unbelievers, harmony and division, love and hatred, heaven and earth, Church and state, and so on. It can be very hard to identify between what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God, if we do not take
the opportunity to choose the best for our spiritual growth. In fact, nothing is more important than our relationship with God. Once we build our relationship with God, we will be able to live it and demonstrate that same relation to others and in our daily lives. Therefore, the result of this relationship is love, friendship, and harmony. For some, it is a
process and for others, it must be now. Therefore, we are free to choose whether Caesar or God, whether earthly stuff or heavenly
treasure; whether passing things or eternal happiness. Last not least, don’t let these – Caesarian things come into conflict in our relationship and obligation to God. God bless you all!
Father Wesler Hilaire

Dear Parishioners and Families of Saint Joan of Arc Church and School,
Thank you for the opportunity to write to you about our very successful pastoral capital campaign for Saint Joan of Arc Church and School. The Campaign Committee reports our first phase efforts are successful. We have reached, as of today, over 75% of our goal to raise $5.5 million dollars. Now, with a second phase concerted effort, we can push this campaign over the top during this upcoming Commitment Weekend, October 18 &19. With your help we will achieve a March 2015 groundbreaking and site preparation. I know that you are committed to Saint Joan of Arc and consequently I am hopeful and confident in asking you to make a gift to support the quality enhancements and physical improvements that will be possible with our Journey Forward capital campaign. Please remember that all parishioners will in some way benefit: senior members, our youth and all ages in between.
It is true that a parish is both a spiritual and material community. We are souls and bodies in a most marvelous unity. Because of this truth, we need to pay attention to the sacred spaces that provide the shelter within which we worship and build community and are educated in faith. This pastoral campaign is not so much about buildings (necessary as they are) but about the spectrum of religious activities that go will on within them.
Please help this collaborative parish vision and solid plan to become a reality. Please know that all gifts are welcome and that they can be made over a three year period.
This weekend we will make the full-parish appeal and we know that we can count on you to make it a success. It is for God’s work, after all, and I am sure that we will be blessed with Divine help and guidance.
If you have any questions please call Wendy Horton at 561-952-2838 or contact St. Joan of Arc Journey Forward Campaign Co-Chairs; Frank Gulisano or Charles Krauser. -Msgr. Michael D. McGraw

FOR THE BABIES AT BIRTH LINEWe felt we had to help as a ministry. There was no choice in the matter.
Next weekend, October 25th and 26th, is Birthline / Lifeline Baby Shower and we as a ministry would like to encourage all to bring baby items to this very important event. Our thoughts led us to a practical contribution of diapers for newborns, as well as other infant necessities. It is our hope that you would be led to take part in this endeavor as you feel is needed and appropriate.
