Inspect all shafts.
Inspect the bearings in the gears, and in the body assemblies. If the bearings are worn excessively, they should be pressed out and replaced. See the topic, SPECIFICATIONS.
Pull the scavenger pump drive gear (9) from the drive shaft assembly (II) using an 8H695 Puller, an-8B7560 Step Plate, a 4B5276 Flat Washer (10) with two 1/4/1 holes drilled to align with the puller holes in the gear, and two 4Bl247 Machine Screws as shown.
DRIVE SHAFT DISASSEMBLY 6-Scavenger pump body. 9-Scavenger pump drive gear.

Remove the key.
Remove the drive shaft assembly (11) from the scavenger pump body (6).
CAUTION
Do not press the drive shaft assembly (11) from the drive gear (9) as the key will damage the pump body.
Ordinarily, oil pump gears should not have to be replaced, unless they have worn sufficiently to cause a considerable drop in oil pressure, or unless they have been damaged.
NOTE
Check that the shaft turns freely with no binding or drag on the gears.
If the gears bind, loosen the bolts slightly and relocate the pump bodies by tapping them lightly until the shafts turn freely. Retighten the bolts.

REMOVING METAL FLOATING RING SEALS 7-Seal support. 8-Metal floating ring seals.
9-End collar. IO-Lock ring.
CAUTION
Tape seals (8) together so they will be kept in matched sets. The floating ring seals should always be installed in pairs; that is, two new seals together or two seals that have previously run together. Never assemble one new seal =d one used seal together or two seals that have not previously run together.
2. Using = SH700 Puller, a suitable step plate and two 5/16 11 - IS NC bolts, 5" long, remove seal support (7).
SEAL SUPPORT REMOVAL
3. Press shaft (12) from roller (3).
REMOVING BEARINGS ll-Bearing cone. 12-Shail. 13-Bearing cone.
4. Inspect bearing cups in each end of the roller. If they are worn or pitted, remove by using an _ SB7554 Bearing Cup Pulling Attachment, SB7553 Reducing Adapter, and = SB754S Push Puller.
5. Inspect cones (11) and (13).
NOTE
Press cone (11) from the shaft' if replacement is necessary.
6. Install the carrier roller so the lugs on the end collar are to the front =d rear of the machine and the dowels in end collar (9) align with holes in bracket (1).
7. Install and tighten the clamping bolts (2) until the carrier roller shaft is firmly seated in the bracket bore.
S. Check the seal support pins. The support should be free and the pins should not be binding in holes.
Assembly
1. Heat bearing cone (6) and install it on the shaft so it seats on the raised section of the shaft.
2. Install bearing outer cups (4) in the roller.
3. Install the shaft in the roller, heat bearing cone (7) and install it on shaft, and install nut (5).
ASSEMBLING CARRIER ROLLER I-Shaft. 2-End collar. 3-Seal support. 4-0uter races.
5-Nut. 6-Inner bearing cone. 7-0uter bearing cone. 8-Lock ring.
4. Tighten nut (5) until all bearing end clear=ce is removed and a slight drag is felt on bearings when shaft is rotated. Then, back nut off until the nearest aligning hole aligns with the slot in the shaft and install lock ring (8). Check the end clearance. See the SPECIFICATIONS for end clearance.
5. Install the end cover, using a new O-ring seal.
