nosotros.

“Elegance is the science of doing nothing
like the rest, but seeming to do everything
the same way they do.” H. Balzac
Honoré de Balzac’s quotation could not bea more appropriate definition of this newproject. I have not reinvented anything: ThePorcelanosa Group of manufacturing com-panies provide interior decorating and archi-tectural solutions which meet all room andprofessional requirements for both large and
small projects. When I started to collaboratewith the company I was impressed by the lar-ge volumes handled by each of the divisionsand by the range of top quality products.
It is sometimes difficult to convey and voicethis situation since, in the majority of cases, itrequires considerable potential and compe-tence to be able to create something smallwhich consolidates this intensity.
We are witnessing the launch of a new brandwhich reflects the spirit of the company. Theaim of the Porcelanosa Premium Collectionis to be the framework with which to createan ambience notable for three common fea-tures: elegance, distinction and exclusivity. The greatest challenge is to create a time-less ambience but, at the same time, produ-ce stunning new designs. I like to pl ay withconcepts that are apparently contradictorysince I believe that a successful outcomelies in the harmony of the whole design. The
combination of natural materials, propor-tions and how these are coordinated are thedetermining factors when creating a welco-ming room for those who live there. In short,to quote Baudelaire, a sublime room shouldaspire to be uninterruptedly sublime.
Good design is the main differentiating
factor: the finest room you can imagine, we
can create.

¿Considera la cocina como “corazón” del hogar? Absolutamente.

Do you consider cooking as the “heart” of the home? Absolutely. I do not know anywhere where home cooking is notthe heart o the home. In act, increasingly, the thinking is thatthe kitchen is the central axis on which the home pivots. So Ithink there isn’t a home where the kitchen is not u ndamentaland thereore its soul, but, yes, I know houses with no s oulor kitchen.
How did you become interested in the kitchen? My mom, Mari, spent the day cooking or a large amily wholoved her cooking. Luxury cooking made magic with meagreresources. I watched the kitchen rom a distance and thoughtthat cleaning fish was not or me ... look at where I am now,I never dreamed as a child o being where I am now..I started ina proessional kitchen at ourteen, not out o love but out o ne-cessity. I was the boy at the sink, taking out the trash in a simplerestaurant on the Denia coast.
Does haute cuisine influence the domestic kitchen?Te influence has been growing gradually, but yes, certainly.Itis not just about the influence exerted by the media, that allowseveryone to have more and better knowledge about cooking, but also the great interest there is in society towards this sectorand how to develop our proession. All this makes people want
to cook at home like we do. Tereore, the techniques and tech-nology are important in the home, in the same way that I wantto run in the shoes o the best marathon runner in the world, because I think they will be better.
What is the best kitchen where you have cooked, and theworst one? Te best? Mine. It’s where I eel best. It is made to measure, withthe technology I need to reproduce my work every d ay at myguest table. Te worst? I would not know. We tend to demandthat the inrastructure o the place w here we cook is ideal.Although it is true that sometimes we have had difficulty inensuring that all our work is to the level required or the guest.
At home separate kitchen or open-plan kitchen? Te truth is that I like an open-plan kitchen, integrated inthe home. But it is also true that what is important is that materials and design are high quality, and that it is a wondplace to be.. Comortable, spacious, bright and versatile.
