DURING the interview• Introduceyourself!• EmpathyandRespect—goodeyecontact,confidence,conveyempathy• Remindrespondentsthattheirresponsesareconfidentialandtheirparticipationisvoluntary

– The interview can be stopped at any time and questions can be refused• Standardize!Thisincreasesthereliabilityofdataandeliminatesasourceofbiasanderror

ENDING the interview• Lookovertheentirequestionnaireforcompletenessbeforeyouleave• Thanktherespondent• Leaveinformationandprovidereferralinformationwherenecessary• Stopaninterviewanytimearespondentrequestsoryoufeelunsafe –
