Program Objectives: The following address theACGME/ABMS “Medical Knowledge” and “Compassionate,Appropriate & Effective Patient Care” Competencies:Upon completion of this program, attendees should beable to better evaluate and manage: congestive heartfailure; acute and chronic coronary artery diseasesyndromes; new antiplatelet therapy; hypothermia;cardiac arrest; limb swelling; percutaneous valve replace-ment; “appropriate use criteria” testing; atrial fibrillation;syncope; arrhythmias; novel anticoagulants; pulmonaryembolism; nuclear cardiology; preventive cardiology;lipids; cardiovascular risk of diabetes and pre-diabetes;recent trials and their impact on clinical practice.
