1. With the many exciting design principles that underpin the artistic nature of the course of study in Digital Media, it is important to understand and apply these.
a. Explain the principle of rule of thirds. (2 marks)
b. Define the term ‘Harmony’ as used in Digital Media. Explain its importance in creating designs for Digital Media. (4 marks)
c. Given to you is a cartoon image. Identify the point of interest by using an arrow or circle. Comment on its usefulness in the cartoon. (4 marks)

2. Create a mind map to express how you would go about an anti-smoking campaign for youths within your country operating under the directive of the Ministry of Youth and National Drug Abuse agency. Your map should have at least 6 branches developed on. (10 marks)

Using three to five frames complete a storyboard for an anti-smoking campaign on the printed form provided. Scan and submit the printed form.
4. Complete a rough sketch of a suitable logo for your country to be used to promote the anti-smoking campaign operating under the directive of the Ministry of Youth and National Drug Abuse agency. Indicate colours by using words to label these areas. (10 marks)Draw rough sketch on blank paper provided. Scan and submit the illustration.
5. Develop a production schedule that you would take to implement this campaign as youth ambassadors of your country operating under the directive of the Ministry of Youth and National Drug Abuse agency. (10 marks)

6. For digital media solutions to work, it is important that target audience or market is properly defined and the purpose of any marketing campaign is properly understood.
