BytePro 20.1 Note 1: Five revisions to 20.1 have been released: Revision A (version 20.1.7405), Revision B (version
20.1.7410), Revision C (version 20.1.7426), Revision D (version 20.1.7459), and Revision E (version
20.1.7545). Revision E requires the following components to be updated: the client application, Web
Portal, Pushback Services, and LOS Web Service; no other components need to be updated. The release
notes below list the changes contained in the revisions, followed by the changes in the initial release.
Note 2: With the release of BytePro version 20.1 we have modernized our version numbering system.
The number before the dot reflects the year while the number after the dot reflects the release number
within the year. This release is the first major release of 2020, so the version number is 20.1. The second
major release in 2020 will be 20.2, while the first major release of 2021 will be 21.1.
Attention LFI Customers: If you are using the LFI closing documents integration,
you must obtain a new set of documents from LFI before installing version 20.1. Contact information for LFI can be found on their web site: www.laserformsinc.com.

Average CMT - Five Year.
Updated the list of Fannie ARM plans; outdated plans were removed and the plans for SOFR ARMs

Fixed an issue in the pushback service that could cause extended fields for one loan file to be
written to a different loan file when the server is under extremely high load.
Performance Logging
Enhanced the performance logging feature (NLOG) by adding additional fields and adding the ability
to create a log entry in a macro.
20.1 Revision D
Fannie Mae - Ratios on Second Homes and Investment Properties
Fixed an issue that caused the taxes and insurance on the borrower’s primary residence to be
double-counted for DO/DU casefiles created on or after June 1, 2020.
Credit Plus
Supplements: Fixed an issue that prevented Credit Plus supplements from being ordered.
Mortgage Only with Score: Added a new report type for Credit Plus credit reports: Mortgage Only
with Score.
20.1 Revision C
DocMagic
Fixed a fatal error that occurred when submitting to DocMagic when the value ‘Desktop Appraisal’
was selected for the ‘Valuation Method’ field on the Subject Property screen.
Fixed an error that occurred when selecting the E-Sign Consent package type and any other package
types that were not associated with a Loan Estimate or Closing Disclosure. When these non-LE and
non-CD package types were selected no Document Package was created in BytePro and so no e-sign
pushback events could be processed.
HUD/VA Addendum
Updated the VA OMB expiration date and the VA form revision date. No changes were made to the
content of the form.
Arch MI
Fixed an error with the credit score factors that could occur under rare circumstances when
submitting to Arch MI.
Details of Transaction – MIP Refund
Corrected an issue that caused the MIP Refund field to be partially obscured on the Details of
Transaction.
Closing Screen
Fixed a problem that caused the ‘Additional Sellers’ and ‘Non-Borrowers on Title’ information to be
cut off on the Closing screen when the screen contained a custom screen header.
FHA 92900-LT – Simple Refinance
Changed the printed form to no longer check ‘No Cash Out Refinance’ when the loan is a Simple
Refinance; only the ‘Simple Refinance’ box will now be checked. Also added the ‘Simple Refinance’
checkbox to the user interface screen.
UCD
Updated the ‘Select Document’ button on the UCD screen to allow the user to select closing
disclosure documents that were automatically stored when the user generated the closing
disclosure by printing it, saving it to PDF, or e-mailing it.
20.1 Revision B

Fixed a problem that prevented new files from being created using MISMO 2.3.1 files.
LE Page 2 and CD Page 2 Browser Display
Fixed an error in the LE Page 2 and CD Page 2 Browser display option (as described later in the
release notes). An error occurred when viewing the ‘Lender Compensation to Broker’ edit screen
when no closing cost estimate was selected.
20.1 Revision A
1003 GMI Addendum
Fixed an issue that caused the printed version of the 1003 GMI Addendum to display incorrect
information.
20.1 Key Features
2020 URLA
Updated the 2020 URLA screens and documents to reflect changes made by Fannie Mae and Freddie
Mac in late 2019. Due to the delayed implementation date, all references to the ‘2019 URLA’ have
been updated to the ‘2020 URLA’. While the mandatory use date for the 2020 URLA is 11/1/2020,
lenders may implement it as soon as 9/1/2020, or in some cases even earlier. To support lenders
that wish to implement the URLA earlier than 11/1/2020, a new setting labeled ‘Early
Implementation Date’ has been added to the Defaults > URLA screen. By default, new loan files
created on or after 11/1/2020 are flagged to use the 2020 version of the URLA. Enter a different
date in this setting to use an earlier implementation date.
Loan Estimate Page 2 and Closing Disclosure Page 2 – Optional
Browser Display
Added the optional ability to display LE page 2 and CD page 2 in a browser window, which may
significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to display the screens. This feature may be
especially helpful for organizations that enable a large number of closing costs and those that access
the software through a virtual machine environment. To turn on this feature go to Defaults > TRID
and look for the settings labeled ’Display LE/CD page 2 in browser window to speed load time‘.
Compliance Tests – Rate Spread Calculation
Updated the rate spread calculation on the ‘Compliance’ screen so that it is calculated by rounding
the APR to three decimals instead of two decimals. For instance, if the APOR is 3.42% and the APR is
3.567% then the rate spread will be calculated as 0.147%. In prior versions the rate spread was
calculated at 0.15% in this scenario because the APR was rounded to 3.57% before subtracting
3.42%. This change affects the tests for HPML (higher-priced mortgage loans), HPCT (higher-priced
covered transactions), and FHA safe harbor. In the case of HPML and HPCT, some loans that were
considered HPML or HPCT under the old calculation will not be considered HPML or HPCT under the
new calculation. On the other hand, some loans that passed the FHA safe harbor test under the old
calculation may now fail the test using the new calculation.
VOE and VOA Interfaces
BytePro Enterprise and BytePro Online Only: Added new verification of employment (VOE) and
verification of assets (VOA) interfaces. The VOE interfaces include the ability to verify employment
via The Work Number. These interfaces are available through new Credit Plus and Credit
Technologies interfaces located on the ‘Verifications’ screen.
.NET Framework Version
Updated the application to use version 4.6.2 of the .NET Framework. Previously the application used
version 4.6 of the .NET Framework.
Updated - Fannie Mae – Desktop Underwriter via XIS
Renamed the Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter XIS interface from "XIS" to "DU XIS". Because the
name of the interface changed, any object permissions for the interface were reset. Please examine
the object permissions and correct them as necessary.
20.1 Additional Features
203(k) Limited Refinance
Updated the alert on the 203(k) screen for step 1.E. on a limited refinance. The alert now indicates
that amounts between $35,000 and $50,000 may be acceptable for step 1.E. for properties in a
Qualified Opportunity Zone.
ACRAnet Credit
Updated the available branch codes on the default screen for the ACRAnet credit interface.
Amortization Schedule – No Payment Loans
Added an option to the Loan Programs default table that allows the interest in the amortization
schedule to be calculated using the original loan amount instead of the unpaid balance. To enable
this option go to Defaults > Loan Programs and select ‘Original Loan Amount’ in the ‘Interest Calc
Basis’ field. In the amortization schedule, the interest due each month will not increase even as the
loan balance increases.
API – Application Programming Interface Changes
CustomValue Object: Added the ability to access the CustomValue object using the API.
EmbeddedDocument Object: Added the ability to modify the EmbeddedDocument object using the
API.
Export and Merge Methods: Added API methods to (a) merge a MISMO 3.4 ULAD file into an
existing loan file, (b) merge a Fannie Mae 3.2 file into an existing loan file, and (c) export a MISMO
2.6 closing file. Also updated the existing MISMO 3.4 export methods so that an error is returned if
these methods are invoked on a loan file where the URLA version is ‘Classic’ or ‘Classic with
Addendum’.
New File Creation: Updated the API to allow a new file to be created without a borrower’s first or
last name. In addition, the subject property state is no longer required unless license validation is
turned on.
Price Adjustments: Fixed an issue that prevented price adjustments from being modified via the API.
Read-Only Fields: Fixed an issue that prevented the API from updating any data when one or more
read-only fields were included in the update request.
Services: Added the ability for the API to run Desktop Underwriter, Loan Product Advisor, and credit.
Each of these interfaces allows you to import liabilities.
Snapshots: Fixed an issue that prevented the API from successfully taking an underwriting snapshot
or a lock history snapshot.
Template Files: Fixed an issue that prevented the API from creating a new file based on a template.
Bundles – Output File Name
Removed the ‘Calculated Columns’ tab from the ‘Select Data’ dialog which is displayed after clicking
the ‘Insert’ field next to the ‘Output File Name’ field on the bundles editor. Calculated columns do
not apply to this feature.
Cardex – Search Feature and License Number
Added the ability to search for contacts on the screen that is used to copy a contact from the Cardex
into a party on the loan file. Go to ‘Parties > Company Field > Assist Button > Select From List…’. In
the pop-up form enter a search term in the text box next to the Search button. BytePro will filter the
list of contacts to those that match the search term. In addition, the license number is now
displayed on this screen.
CBCInnovis FZDS – Name Change
Updated the name of the flood interface ‘CBCInnovis – FZDS’ to ‘DataVerify Flood Services’.
CBCInnovis ID Cross Check
Removed the CBCInnovis ID Cross Check interface. The interface was located under the Fraud
Detection menu.
Closing Cost Estimates – Construction and Construction-Perm Loans
Updated the closing cost estimates calculations. For the purposes of calculating the estimates, a
loan is now considered a purchase transaction if the loan purpose is 'Purchase', 'Second - Purchase
Money', 'Third - Purchase Money', or if the loan purpose is 'Construction' or 'Construction Perm' and
the 'Treat as Refinance' field is unchecked on the 'Construction Loan - Details' screen; otherwise it is
considered a refinance. Previously the loan was considered a purchase if the loan purpose was
'Purchase', otherwise it was considered a refinance.
Also updated the value used for the 'price/value' in the formula calculation. If the loan is considered
a purchase then the 'Purchase Price' or 'Price/Value' field is used; if the loan is considered a
refinance then the appraised value field is used if it contains a value, otherwise the 'Estimated
Value' or 'Price/Value' field is used. Previously the appraised value was considered only when the
loan purpose was 'Refinance'.
ClosingXpress Document Preparation Interface
Removed the ClosingXpress document preparation interface. This interface is no longer supported
by ClosingXpress.
Construction Loan - Details Screen
Relabeled the checkbox on the ‘Construction Loan – Details’ screen. The checkbox that was
previously labeled ‘Do Not Show Purchase Price’ has been relabeled to ‘Treat as Refinance’. This
change was made to support the 2020 URLA where the cost of construction may be entered in the
purchase price field in the details of transaction, even when the land is owned free and clear or the
land is being refinanced.
Conditions and Needed Items - Hide Cleared Items
Added the ability to hide conditions and needed items that have been cleared. Look for the
checkbox labeled ‘Hide Cleared’ on the ‘Conditions’ and ‘Processing Log’ screens.
Consumer Portal
Updated the Consumer Portal so that the ‘Ethnicity Completed’, ‘Sex Completed’, and ‘Race
Completed’ fields are updated automatically when the application is submitted, provided that the
‘Government Information’ page is displayed to the user. For instance, the ‘Ethnicity Completed’ field
will be set to ‘Provided by Borrower’ if the borrower enters any ethnicity information, otherwise it
will be set to ‘Not Provided in Mail, Telephone or Internet Application’.
CoreLogic Fraud – AKA Names
Added the ability to omit AKA names from the set of information sent to CoreLogic. Go to Defaults >
CoreLogic Fraud and look for the setting labeled ‘Send AKA Names’.
Counseling Agencies List

Default Resolution Counseling’. The name of this agency is truncated in the data that is returned by
HUD.

screen.
Supplements: Added the ability to order supplements via the Credit Plus credit interface. Click the
button labeled ‘Supplements’ on the Credit Plus interface screen.

Added a default setting to prevent AKAs from being imported from the credit report. Go to Defaults
> Credit General and look for the setting labeled ‘Do not Import AKAs from Credit Reports’.
Credit Technologies
BytePro Enterprise and BytePro Online Only: Added new Credit Technologies interfaces for 4506-T,
SSA, UDM, VOA, and VOE which are located on the ‘Verifications’ screen. Also added new Fraud,
InstantID, and PreciseID interfaces located on the ‘Fraud Detection’ screen.
DataVerify
4506-T: Updated the DataVerify 4506-T interface to allow each of the three possible orders to be
submitted independently of the others.
Gift Donor Names: Fixed an error that occurred when submitting to DataVerify DRIVE when the text
‘MR’, ‘MRS’, ‘MISS’, ‘MS’, ‘DR’, or ‘REV’ was entered in the ‘Donor Name 1’ or ‘Donor Name 2’ field
on the gift letter screen.
Participant Mapping: Updated how participants are mapped in the DataVerify DRIVE integration.
The ‘Company Name’ and ‘ADS Company ID’ fields are no longer transmitted for participants that
are individuals, and the ‘License or Cert Num’ field was added for participants that are companies.
DocMagic
4506-T Mapping: Updated the DocMagic interface so that overridden borrower names on the 4506-
T are transmitted to DocMagic if a credit alias with the same name is found on page 3 of the 1003.
On the 4506-T screen, the borrower names can be overridden by checking the box labeled
‘Override’ on lines 1 or 2. If the exact name entered in those override fields is also entered as a
credit alias at the top of page 3 of the 1003, then that credit alias is flagged in the DocMagic export
to be used on the DocMagic version of the 4506-T.
FHA Cash-Out Refi: Updated the DocMagic interface to transmit the correct FHA refinance type
when the refinance type in BytePro is ‘Cash Out’.
Lender Compensation to Broker: Updated the DocMagic interface to transmit the ‘LO
Compensation from Lender’ amount.
Pushback Service – Consent Dates: Fixed an issue that prevented the consent dates from being
correctly populated via the DocMagic pushback service.
Pushback Service - Non-Borrowers on Title: Updated the DocMagic pushback feature to update
consent and signing dates for ‘non-borrowers on title’.
Pushback Service – Logging: Added the ability to log outgoing web requests made by the DocMagic
pushback service. Contact Byte Software for details if you need to perform this level of logging.
DocuTech
Attachments: Added the ability to attach additional documents to DocuTech E-Close and E-Sign
packages when the delivery method is ‘Seamless’. This feature allows the user to attach letters of
explanation and similar documents to the package. In DocuTech attachments are flagged to be ink-
signed by the borrower. To add an attachment make sure the delivery method is ‘Seamless’ and the
delivery option is ‘E-Close’ or ‘E-Sign’, then click the button labeled ‘Select Attachments’.
Construction Perm First Payment Date: Updated the DocuTech interface to correct how the first
payment date is transmitted for construction perm loans.
Data Integrity Errors: Modified the interface to no longer display a ‘success’ message when
DocuTech returns a data integrity error.
E-Close and E-Sign Validation: Updated the DocuTech interface to prevent submission for the
following invalid combinations of package type and delivery option: (a) package type is ‘Closing’ and
delivery option is ‘E-Sign’, and (b) package type is anything other than ‘Closing’ and delivery option is
‘E-Close’.
Messages: Increased the message length from 2,000 to 4,000 characters. When four or more
borrowers were on a loan file, messages were being truncated due to the character limitation. This
prevented end users from viewing the Solex document link for some borrowers.
MIP Refund: Modified how the FHA MIP refund amount is transmitted to DocuTech.
Pushback Service: Updated the DocuTech pushback service to prevent duplicate sets of documents
from being downloaded under some circumstances.
Ernst
City and County Tax/Stamp Fees: Enhanced the Ernst interface by adding two new fee mappings:
‘County Deed Tax/Stamp Fee’ and ‘County Mortgage Tax/Stamp Fee’. This allows the city fees to be
mapped to different BytePro closing costs than the county fees. Until the new fee mappings are
assigned to a closing cost, both the city and county fees will be combined and assigned using the
existing fee mappings ‘City/County Deed Tax/Stamp Fee’ and ‘City/County Mortgage Tax/Stamp
Fee’. This combining behavior was also used in prior versions of BytePro, so the interface will behave
the same as it did before unless the new fees are explicitly mapped.
Estimated Value: Updated the Ernst interface to transmit the higher of the purchase price or the
appraised value in the ‘EstimatedValue’ field when the loan is a purchase transaction.
New Fee Mappings: Added a number of new Ernst fee mappings for Title:
Title - Exception to area and boundaries (Procedural Rule P-2 or P-8.a.(2) / Rate Rule R-16)
Title - Standard exception relating to taxes (Procedural Rule P-20 / Rate Rule R-19)
Title - Standard exception relating to taxes not yet due (Procedural Rule P-20 / Rate Rule R-24)
Title - Commitment Fee (Policy Surcharge)
Title - OR Lien Search (Policy Surcharge)
Title - Policy Surcharge
Title - IN TIEFF (Policy Surcharge)

report types ‘Merge’, ‘Decision’, and ‘Loan Quality’ have been changed to ‘Credit Report’, ‘Decision
Report’, and ‘LQCC’ respectively.
Fannie Mae – Desktop Underwriter
Credit Actions: Added a new credit action labeled ‘Reissue / Underwriting Only’. When this option is
selected, if there is no Casefile ID then the report will be reissued. If there is a Casefile ID then
Fannie Mae will use any existing credit report that it has on file; if no credit report is on file then the
request will fail.
Value Verify: Added support for Fannie Mae’s Value Verify pilot project. Enter the ID associated
with the property in the field labeled ‘Property Data ID’ on the Desktop Underwriter screen.

the upcoming 2020 URLA. This field was added in version 10.0 and is no longer needed by Freddie

Increased the length of the ‘Loan Program Name’ field from 50 characters to 100 characters, and
increased the length of the ‘Loan Program Code’ field from 25 characters to 50 characters.
Loan Program Defaults - LTV Calculation Method
Added a new LTV calculation method that causes the LTV to be calculated based on the appraised
value for all loans including purchase transactions. Select ‘Appraised Value’ from the ‘LTV Calc
Method’ drop-down list on the ‘Loan Programs’ default screen.
Loan Program Defaults - Do Not Register with MERS
Added a new field to the loan programs default table labeled ‘Do Not Register with MERS’. This field
is not used directly by BytePro but it can be employed in a macro to trigger custom business logic.
Macros
CustomValue Table: Modified the SDK to allow developers to access the CustomValue table. From a
macro access the data via the SDKFile.GetCollectionCount, SDKFile.GetCollectionObject and
SDKFile.AddCollectionObject methods; pass in ‘CustomValue’ for the ‘collectionName’ parameter.
Disable Temporarily: Added the ability to temporarily disable macros for debugging purposes. Go to
Tools > Admin Tools > Debugging and check the box labeled ‘Temporarily disable macros’. This will

3.4 ULAD file, select ‘MISMO File’ from the ‘Import Source’ drop-down list on the ‘New File’ screen.
To merge a MISMO 3.4 ULAD file into an existing loan file, select the ‘Merge MISMO 3.4 ULAD File’
option on the ‘Fannie Mae’ screen. This merge feature follows the same basic logic as the existing
‘Merge Fannie Mae File’ option which merges a Fannie Mae 3.2 file.
NLog Enhancements
Macros: Updated the NLog feature to log the total elapsed time for all macros for a given event type
such as ‘On Screen Changed’.

when the ‘Printable Documents’ section in object permissions was flagged as ‘Hidden for

of precision after the decimal place instead of two digits of precision.

to the file. The existing ‘What If’ button returns results for the logged-in user, which will be different
if the logged-in user is not the loan officer.

Fixed an error that occurred when a pipeline view contained a detail grid with a custom SQL filter.
The error resulted in the detail grid being entirely unfiltered when switching from the loan file view
back to the pipeline view.

validation errors for the Fannie Mae version of the MISMO 3.4 export file. (2) ExportFannieMismo34
returns XML of the file itself.
CustomValue Table: Modified the SDK to allow developers to access the CustomValue table. For the
SDK, access the data via the SDKFile.GetCollectionCount, SDKFile.GetCollectionObject and
SDKFile.AddCollectionObject methods; pass in ‘CustomValue’ for the ‘collectionName’ parameter.
Stored Documents – Move to Top and Move to Bottom
Restored the ‘Move to Top’ and ‘Move to Bottom’ buttons on the ‘Stored Documents’ screen. These
buttons allow the user to change the order in which documents are displayed on the screen.
Taxpayer Consent Form – Loan Number
Updated the Loan Number field on the printed Taxpayer Consent form so that it displays the same
value that is printed in the ‘Loan ID’ field on the Loan Estimate, even in cases where the Loan ID is

Added a question to the Telephone Certification of Employment document to determine whether
the borrower is subject to a temporary furlough, reduced salary, or reduced hours.
Web Portal - Credit
Fixed an ‘Invalid Provider Name’ error that occurred when ordering credit from the Web Portal after
adding a new user.
