The original version of the Bulgarian Flag was adopted in 1879, and the current version was adopted in 1991.
Bulgaria’s flag has three-equal horizontal bands in different colours (starting from top) – white-green-red.
The different colours on the flag represent different things.

• White – peace and honesty
• Green – hope, joy and agricultural wealth of the country
• Red – hardiness, bravery, strength and valour
