WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC),
a multi-disciplinary community of over 800 estate and wealth planning
professionals, has selected Melissa Langa of Brookline, principal of the
Boston law firm of Bove
Langa, as its 2014 Estate Planner of the Year. This award
recognizes her significant contributions to the estate planning
profession, and it is the highest honor that BEPC can bestow upon a
member of the estate planning community.
Ms. Langa will be honored at the association's Annual
Gala, which will take place on May 22 at the Westin Boston
Waterfront. The event will be hosted by Joyce
Kulhawik, Emmy Award-winning local broadcaster. Both BEPC members

In her practice, Melissa Langa, a past president of BEPC, guides
individuals, families, businesses, and charitable entities in designing
and implementing customized tax-efficient structures to meet their
particular estate planning, business, and charitable goals. She is
adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law's Graduate Tax
Program, where she teaches estate planning. Prior to Bove Langa, her
legal experience included advocating for civil rights on behalf of the
United States in the U.S. Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court
-- specifically protecting the employment rights of minorities, women,
the disabled, and the aged.
Her civic activities have included leading a women's rights political
action committee, spearheading the funding and building of a new
elementary school playground, and serving as a Town Meeting Member in
Brookline. She is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate
Counsel, and she has been recognized by her peers as a top practitioner
