This book came into my life at just the right time. I’ve read this book over and over again. She’s my heroine. This book was one of those life-changing books. I love books and accept the clutter of them close to my bed as comfort. This book gave me courage to change my career path 18 years ago. I remember exactly where I was when I read this book. These are a few of the reader comments I received last month when I invited our colleagues to talk about books that have changed their lives. The response confirms my belief that books come into our lives at certain times for a purpose — and they really do change the course of our lives. Here are five books that have changed my life: The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom: Corrie exemplifies living a resilient life before, during, and after her time in Nazi war camps. The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz: Two of the agreements — Be Impeccable With Your Word and Always Do Your Best — have resonated with me since I learned them. New Testament: I’m always inspired and comforted by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Dandelion Wine, by Ray Bradbury: Every spring I delight in reading this story of growing up and living life fully. The Anatomy of Peace, by the Arbinger Institute: This book defines how to love unconditionally. I’ve also attached a list of the books our readers sent to me. Enjoy — and happy reading!
