The fi rst count of injury/deaths reported two dead and 23 wounded, according to BPD at 4:02 p.m.

President Obama releases
a statement at 6:11 p.m. “They are safe, but
we don’t know what is going to happen next,” he said.“But make no mistake — we will get to the bottom of this. And we will fi nd out who did this; we’ll fi nd out why they did this. Any responsible in-dividuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice.”
At 7:15 p.m., The Boston Globe reports an 8-year-old boy dead.
*A total of three people were killed and more than 130 injured in the com-bined explosions according to BPD.
BPD evacuates areas and close down parts of Clarendon, Huntington, Newbury, Hereford and Belividere at approximately
7:30 p.m.
UC President Ono posts a twitter com-ment at 7:44 p.m. saying, “My heart goes
out to those who were killed or injured at the Boston Marathon and to their loved
ones.”

Sara Stark, emergency medicine professor, completes her race at 1:53 p.m.
Laurah Turner, assistant director, completes her race at 1:33 p.m.

The Boston Marathon begins its 117th marathon at 10 a.m. Monday in Hopkin, Massachu-setts with 70 Cincinnatians out of 26,839 entrants.
