FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME JULY 5, 2020
Congratulations Second GradersCongratulations to our second graders as they receive their First Holy Communion at a daily or weekend Mass. Congratulations to Kennedy Michelle Morgan who will receive her First Holy Communion next weekend. We will continue to acknowledge our second graders as they receive their sacraments.
Bishop’s Annual Appeal“Living the Joy of the Gospel,” the theme of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal (BAA), inspires us, as people of faith, to share joyfully the Good News of Christ to those who most need to feel His love. Works of kindness and assistance sometimes in the smallest way, can bring about a profound change in a person’s life. Through the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, we have an opportunity to bring about a positive change in the lives of many of God’s people. Through your generosity, you are supporting the various ministries and programs that are vital in spreading His love. The weekend of July 11/12 is Commitment Weekend for the Appeal, at which time you can make your gift or pledge. Our parish has been asked to raise $64,999.37 for this year’s appeal and every dollar raised over that amount will be returned to our parish to be used where it is needed. The BAA theme, “Living the Joy of the Gospel,” compels us to join in the mission of the Gospel by sharing the Good News.
Prayer for Civic LeadersGod our Father, You guide everything in wisdom and love. Accept the prayers we offer for our nation. In Your goodness, watch over those in authority so that people everywhere may enjoy freedom, security and peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord.Amen.– From Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time“For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”Matthew 11:30 When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent and treasure. However, we must remember that we are not “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion, in gratitude, of what He has already given to us. Learn how you can share generously by supporting your parish and contact The Catholic Foundation. Visit www.catholic-foundation.org/development for more information.
