RESPLENDENT LOOK FOR THE NEW SABAH STATE ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEX
KUALA LUMPUR: Chic and resplendent is what will define the new Sabah State Administrative
Complex which is nearing completion in Teluk Likas, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
By May next year, the complex which is now almost 83% completed will change the skyline of the
state’s capital as an imposing landmark.
The complex which comprises a 30-storey office tower and 2 blocks of 9-storey buildings will
house the Sabah Chief Minister’s office together with the offices of his state Ministers and is
located in the vicinity of the Sabah’s most prominent landmark, the Sabah Foundation Building.
A RM123.32 million contract to equip Block A and Block B of the complex with interior design
work will be undertaken by Bina Puri Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Bina Puri Sdn Bhd.
An announcement was made to Bursa Malaysia today. Bina Puri Sdn Bhd has accepted the letter
of award from Department of Works (JKR) Sabah, on 20 April and will complete the job within a
year.
Construction of this complex and the tower costing RM388.7 million started in 2011 and was also
undertaken by Bina Puri Holdings Bhd. When completed, the tower will be one of the tallest
buildings in Sabah.

The complex covers a 15 acre land in the water front area overlooking the South China Sea.
At the end of last year, Bina Puri was also awarded a contract to carry out additional works which
entailed the upgrading work of the existing seawall, external roundabout for the proposed traffic
division and fencing for RM64.99 million.
With this latest award, the Group’s unbuilt book order stands at RM2.17 billion as at to date.
Group Managing Director Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Seng said with this award, the Group has
secured RM543 million in projects this year and was optimistic of securing further projects by year
end.
“The Group is pleased to announce that it has been awarded with a major project which again
demonstrated the Group’s reputable track record for its timely delivery and as an established
construction player in Sabah.
“In Sabah alone, we have completed projects worth more than RM1.5 billion and are undertaking
on-going projects there worth approximately RM800 million.
“With RM9 billion allocated by the Federal government for infrastructure projects in Sarawak and
Sabah, our expertise in the construction division will continue to play an important part in the
development of Sabah” he added.
