How can GTSRP be improved.
a. Establishment of Bhutan Biological Corridor Complex in 1999.i. Setting aside another 9% of area as biological corridors. A total of 51.44% of area as protected area. (this corridors were established based on tiger presence survey)
b. i. A well established database system on tiger distribution and its prey.ii. Reduction in the number of Human-Tiger Conflict incidences.iii. Improved habitat quality of tigers.
3 Key Good Practices that needs to be scaled up.
1. Upscale livestock compensation through the mechanism of livestock insurance reduction in retaliatory killing
2. Establish community based eco-tourism better appreciation of landscape conservation.
3. Regular patrolling: need for better systematic patrolling (adopting MIST patrolling)
