Crink le was thrown f rom a car window by humans who did not want him anymore .
As he landed in the bush ,
he hur t his leg .
As darkness fe l l , Cr i nk le was a l l a lone .
Cr i nk le was very fr ightened
and his leg hur t a lo t . Cr i nk le cou l d not wa lk .
The next morn i ng Cr i nk le saw a big puppy
Ben wanted to he l p Cr i nk le .
smi l i ng at him . His name was Ben .
Ben ’ s owners were ca l l i ng and ca l l i ng .
He picked him up in his mouth .
Ben had run off to exp lo re the bush whi le
his owners were having a picn ic .
As they burs t out of the bush to say he l l o ,
Cr i nk le had a broken leg . What cou l d they do?
Ben did not panic .Ben thought very carefu l l y .
Ben had been there as a new puppy .
they cou l d see Ben ’ s owners dr i v i ng away .Now they were both orphans and

Ben cou l d see The Happiness Cent re
in the dis tance .His leg hur t f rom carrying

“Never gi ve up ,”he kept saying to himse l f .
Nurse Janet rushed to he l p .
Dr Rob needed a l l his machinesto he l p f ix Ben and Cr ink le .
He fi r s t asked the x-ray machine to he l p .
The x-ray machine cou l d see ins ide
wi th his specia l x-ray waves .
Ben and Cr ink le ’ s sore legs
Dr Rob looked at the X-rays.
He needed to operate to fixtheir sore legs.
The oxygen bottles were going
to help. They gigg led and hissed
wi th g lee , a l l want i ng to be the one lucky bot t le that
was chosen to he l p f ix Ben and Cr ink le ’ s legs .
Next i t was the s leeping machine ’s tu rn . He was ca l led an anaesthet ic machine .
Poppy had an app le
for lunch when
her f r iends had fr ies .
“Look into my eyes,” he said.
Ben and Crinkle fell fast asleep.
“You are getting very sleepy…”

operat i ng room . He was the surgery l igh t .
He lo ved to shine . He shone br igh t ly so
Dr Rob cou l d see to f ix Ben and Cr ink le .

Dr Rob worked hard in the magica l operat i ng room for a long t ime to f ix Ben and Cr ink le .
When Ben and Crinkle awoke they
They were already getting better.They smiled at each other.
They knew they would always be friends
Ben had made the right choice under pressurewere both lying in hospital beds. and helped his litt le buddy to safety.
Poppy walked to school
with her new friends
instead of taking the bus.
When they were better , they sat with Dr Rob
and looked at the beautifu l rainbowthat shone over the town of Smi le-a-Lot .

As Ben , Cr i nk le and Dr Rob looked out , they Chi l d ren were r id i ng a pony ca l led Soda Pop .
