EDUCATION WEEK ASSEMBLY Thank you to the many family members who attended the assembly, visited classrooms and enjoyed our refreshments. Thank you to all of the teachers in preparing their classrooms for our visitors and to the performers and their dance teachers and conductors for their enchant-ing performances. Additionally, I would like to thank the P&C commit-tee for preparing the morning tea. The P&C relies on only a small amount of volunteers so I am very grateful for their time and support during these very busy times. Please consider joining our P&C meet-ings to help distribute the load. Next week’s newsletter will feature pho-tographs of the outstanding work from our Year 5 and Year 6 students. Everyone is welcome to attend the viewing tonight from 5.30pm - 7.00pm. Please begin the viewing via the carpark stairs to the comput-er room. PERFORMING ARTS SHINES AT BELROSE A number of our students have shared their musical talents as part of the Regional Bands and Choirs at the Town Hall and Opera House. Only last night, our primary school choir sang at the Opera House, as part of the Combined School’s Choir. Well done, girls and boys. PRESENTATION AT SYDNEY UNIVERSITY Mrs Stephens and Mr Davidson will be presenting at the STEM Acade-my Alumni Conference ‘STEMMING” the Tide: Promoting STEM through Innovative Programs in Schools’ this Saturday. We are very proud of our work and are excited that we have been asked to present to the forum of STEM Academics. BOOK WEEK PARADE The Book Week character parade will be held on Thursday, 22 August from 9.00am. Students will be able to dress up as their favourite book character or book title. All parents are welcome to attend and watch their children parade in their costumes. Following this, students can change into preferable play/mufti clothes. Ms Wedlock has also organ-ised the illustrator, Sarah Davis, to speak to the students during the day.
