Intro to River Cruising with Avalon Waterways
River Cruising vs. Ocean Cruising
• Destinations – you unpack just once & each morning awake in the middle of a new city to explore. No days at sea or long bus rides wasting valuable time. Spend more time in each place, and river cruises can get to ports that large cruise ships cannot.
• Amount of passengers - river cruises offer a much more intimate and personal experience. More socializing in a small group including time with ship crew and officers.
• No waves or worrying about seasickness – you always have smooth sailing on a river cruise with some amazing views along the way.
• Educational /Cultural – river cruises include shore excursion in the price & cultural experience such as live concerts or cooking demonstrations.
• Wi-fi is included on river cruises.• Convenience - No need to leave your suit case out the night before the
cruise ends – keep your luggage with you until morning.

Onboard Avalon Suite Ships, the unique Panorama Suite at 200 square feet, including
11-foot Open Air Balcony™ and marble bathroom.
Imagine a typical river cruise cabin sliding glass window… Total width is seven feet wide – pretty wide, right? However, like any other sliding glass door, roughly half will open, which is what– 3.5 feet? Now imagine stretching that seven foot window to eleven feet and roughly seven feet opening… This is what Avalon did with their “Suite Ships”…
For most of us that have experienced balcony cabins aboard other river cruise vessels or (for that matter) ocean cruise ships , in order to provide the traveler with a balcony you could hardly use, the living quarters itself is compromised in order to meet the requirements necessary in building a balcony area, leaving us with a small cabin & smaller balcony. What’s the point of this? Well, what if we…
As I was saying… What if we took out the balcony, stretched out the cabin, moved a wall, moved some furniture around, & provided a wider sliding glass window that opened roughly seven (7) feet? OH… Let’s not forget a table for 2 & 1 suite view! This is the Avalon way and we invite you to be a suite guest in order to enjoy a suite cruise aboard an Avalon Suite Ship. How suite is that?
And as a result of it all, the total experiential view is summed up in a single picture that yells thousands of words in one glance! There’s really no need to describe Avalon’s view on the left, but what is it we’re staring at on the right? Oh, Yeah! A Wall, and as you can see Avalon not only took out the wall view, they made it all luxurious!

Final thought
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. --Mark Twain
