Thank you for enquiring about an Apprenticeship Standard with Kaplan. The enclosed Apprenticeships Enrolment Form will help us get your Apprentice started on the programme.
How to complete this formPlease complete and support your Apprentice to complete the relevant sections of the Apprenticeships Enrolment Form fully. Otherwise, we may need to ask for further information which could delay your Apprentice’s enrolment.
You only need to return the section titled – Assistant Accountant and Accounting/Tax Technician Apprenticeship – Enrolment Form from this document. Please return the form to [email protected]. If there are any areas of the form you are unsure about please contact the Operations team on 0161 233 4571.
What happens once the Apprentice is enrolled?Once the enrolment pack has been received it will be eligibility checked. The Apprentice will then receive an invite, via email, to MyKaplanApprenticeship (MyKapApp). They will be set a series of Initial Assessment tasks that will be required to be completed before their sign up, to create a Training Needs Analysis from the results.
A Talent Coach will be assigned to your Apprentice who will make contact to arrange a sign up appointment. They will be
responsible for setting up a learning plan capturing all elements of the Apprenticeship Standard, coaching and mentoring your Apprentice through their Apprenticeship. The minimum duration of this programme is 13 months but depending on which pathway is chosen could be as long as 24 months. We will discuss with you the recommended timescale for your Apprentice.
Once enrolled, the Talent Coach will keep in regular contact to make sure that your Apprentice is progressing with the Apprenticeship as planned. Any absences from class are reported to you and we will keep all parties informed of progress.
The Apprentice may also be required to complete Functional Skills in maths and English as part of the programme (your Apprentice may have valid exemptions for these, e.g. GCSEs, O’Levels, etc). Your Apprentice will be advised on these requirements at enrolment. All Apprenticeships on new standards are required to undertake an End Point Assessment with an independent third party. Please note that Kaplan will book and pay for your first EPA only. The Talent Coach is there to support both Employer and Apprentice and they are the first point of contact, if any additional guidance is required.

Funding Apprenticeship Programmes
What type of employer definition does our organisation fall under and what will we be expected to contribute?
Company Description Employer type for SFA funding purposes How funding will work
Public and private UK employers with a payroll bill in excess of £3m a year.
Levy Paying Employer An employer’s levy allocation must be used in the first instance. Kaplan charge the relevant cap associated with each Apprenticeship (The caps are shown in the table below).
NB: If the cost of an individual Apprenticeship is more than the cap, the employer is required to pay the outstanding balance in full.
If the employer has already allocated their available levy against Apprentices, they can purchase additional Apprenticeships at a 10% contribution of the overall cost of the Apprenticeship and the remaining 90% will be government funded.
Public and private UK employers with 50 or more employees but with a payroll bill in less than £3m a year.
Non Levy SME Employer Employer must provide a contribution of 10% of the cost of the Apprenticeship up to the cap associated with the Apprenticeship per Apprentice. The Education and Skills Funding Agency will fund the remaining 90% (the caps are shown in the table below) and where the cost of the Apprenticeship is more than the cap, the employer is required to pay the outstanding balance in full.
Public and private UK employers with 49 or less employees.
Micro Employer For Apprentices aged between 16-18, the Education and Skills Funding Agency will fund 100% of the cost of their Apprenticeships.
For Apprentices aged 19+, the Employer must provide a contribution of 10% of the cost of the Apprenticeship up to the cap associated with the Apprenticeship per Apprentice. The Education and Skills Funding Agency will fund the remaining 90% (The caps are shown in the table below) and where the cost of the Apprenticeship is more than the cap, the employer is required to pay the outstanding balance in full.
