ActivitiesNetworking and Collaboration workThe Network meets annually to discuss critical issues and updates on country efforts on eHealth, HIS, and IT or CRVS. It also supports national eHealth conferences funding external country participants as observers or by providing resource speakers on topics requested by countries.
Providing Technical AssistanceWe help countries develop eHealth, HIS and IT for CRVS strategic plans. We utilize state-of-the-art tools to facilitate country-led processes and connect countries with technical experts who can help. Support ranges from analyzing the eHealth situation to organizational development for effective multi-sectoral HIS/CRVS governance to implementing architectural approaches to sustainable ICT-enhanced systems that conform to global standards.
Building Health Capacity: Roadmap of eHealth Capacity DevelopmentStarting with a country eHealth action plan, technical support is provided to make eHealth scalable and sustainable through sound and certified governance, planning, management, and optimization processes.
The AeHIN Hour: Knowledge ExchangeThe AeHIN Hour is our Network’s bimonthly online webinar, a forum for members and experts to share and explore eHealth, HIS, and IT for CRVS implementations and how these could be improved in the region. Local AeHIN Hour webinars are now initiated in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and India (to be launched).
The webinars are open to the public; announcements are posted on the AeHIN website and mailing list. Members can suggest topics that are of interest to them. Sessions are done and recorded via WebEx. Webinar resources are then posted on AeHIN’s repository site: http://aehin.hingx.org
OpenHealth Data Standards and InteroperabilityAeHIN learns that identifying standards is one thing, implementing them is another. Through peer-to-peer networks, reinforced by world-class experts, AeHIN assists countries to analyze their information needs and tailor an incremental approach to adopt health data standards to ensure interoperability within and across health systems.
INTEROPERABILITY through REACH and COILAeHIN steps up the advocacy for interoperability and standards-based health and CRVS information systems through REACH and COIL.
Regional Enterprise Architecture Council for Health (REACH)REACH is a shared resource for countries to tap to enhance national HIS – CRVS systems organized around a robust enterprise architecture. The Council (REACH) can provide support and advice as countries shape their national eHealth strategies. It will maintain a repository of artifacts on enterprise architecture from which countries can pull, adopt, and adapt to guide crafting terms of reference for their own national health information systems investments.
Community of Interoperability Labs (COIL)The Community of Interoperability Labs (COIL) is organized as a forum to learn from each other and disseminating new knowledge and research across borders and within their own countries. Spearheaded in parallel are in-country interoperability labs intended to build capacity within countries to build, acquire, and implement those artifacts in operational environments – the clinics, hospitals, program offices, etc. These labs will become the go-to places for various stakeholders in the countries for testing, tooling, training, and teaching on interoperability of electronic information systems.
Resource SharingMembers share documents and resources from their eHealth implementations at the http://aehin.hingx.org. AeHIN encourages research and reuse of materials tested and vetted by others, contained herein.
