WELCOME TO THE NEW ZEALAND KENNEL CLUB 2016 EUKANUBA NATIONAL DOG SHOW
We thank you for your entry and trust that you have an enjoyable time. For those from out of town we welcome you to Christchurch City and wish you safe travelling.
RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR AND ALCOHOL: All people are asked to observe a high standard of behaviour, to act courteously to others and to follow the reasonable instructions of the event officials. NZKC reserves the right to exclude from the show any person/s in breach of these requirements.
Please note that no dogs are to be in the judging rings at any time other than when being judged. These rings are not to be used for training purposes. The rings are only accessible to the cleaners and set up staff outside of the scheduled judging times.
ACCESS TO BUILDING: 7am each day from the Exhibitors Entrance to the A & P saleyards and via the Grooming Marque.
BREED & GROUP JUDGING: It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to present their dog(s) for judging. Only three calls will be given after which time a dog will be deemed to be absent. One handler per dog is required in the assembly area.
There will be times when two groups are being judged at the same time and due to time constraints we will not be able to reschedule timings. Exhibitors are advised to arrange an alternative handler in the case of any potential clashes.
CATALOGUES: Pre-ordered catalogues can be collected from the NZKC stand from Friday 30th September. Catalogues can be purchased throughout the event for $15.00 (full show catalogue), $2.00 (Group catalogue) and $5.00 (Obedience catalogue).
CATERING: Full catering is available at the Army Marque and also from the stalls at the front of the RDA Building. Coffee is available at the Coffee Cart inside the building.
CHALLENGE CERTIFICATES: Available from the NZKC stand half an hour after breed judging.
CRATES, TROLLEYS AND TABLES: Trolleys and crates will be allowed in the assembly area only while the breed is being judged. These must be removed immediately after showing and before the next breed commences. Your cooperation is requested or this privilege will be withdrawn. The rule of one dog one handler still applies. If you have dogs entered in consecutive classes you must organise the next dog ready for exhibition. Dogs must be kept in their trolley when not being exhibited.
YKC members may be available to assist exhibitors with the minding/holding of dogs while owners are in the show ring.
- 2 -
CRUFTS QUALIFYING CERTIFICATES: The Eukanuba 2016 NZKC National Dog Show is one of the Overseas Qualifying Shows for Crufts. The Junior Dog, Junior Bitch, Best Dog and Best Bitch of each breed qualify to compete at this prestigious event. Certificates can be ordered at the NZKC stand during the show at a cost of $15.00.
DOGS ON GRAND STANDS: Exhibitors are reminded that the grand stands are for people only. No dogs are allowed on the stands.
DRESS AND BEHAVIOUR: We know that as exhibitors you will recognise that a high standard of sportsmanship, dress and behaviour is required to match the occasion of your National Dog Show.
FIRE SAFETY AND EVACUATION: Please take the time to note the Fire Exits and to read the Evacuation procedure notices in the building in the case of an emergency.
FOULING: The building and grounds are NO FOULING areas. All faecal deposits and urination must be cleaned up immediately inside and outside of the building including doorways. Failure to do so will result in a fine.
GROOMING: A floor plan showing the location of spaces that have been pre-booked and paid for will be on display at the venue for each of the show days.
There may still be limited grooming spaces available during the event. The cost per 1.5m2 is $12.50 for half a day (am or pm) and bookings and payment can be made at the NZKC stand located by the Eukanuba stall. This also applies to exhibitors qualifying for showing on Sunday, 2nd October. Casual grooming areas may be available. Please report to the NZKC stand for information.
NATIONAL SHOW DUTY VET: McMaster & Heap, 12 Coppell Place, Spreydon, Christchurch. Phone: 03 338 2534.
