Kids University ARBOR HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY
Our program at Arbor Heights Elementary provides a stimulating environment where children experience
classes rich in cognitive and creative skill-building. The hands-on Kids U format encourages children to
experiment with a broad spectrum of afterschool enrichment classes that allow them to develop their
own skills, talents and interests.

Everyone is welcome. Email the Registrar if you have questions about applying for a scholarship. While
we are as accommodating as possible to individual schedules, our classes are staffed based on
enrollment. All cancellation requests must be received before Friday, March 9th. We will not offer prorat-

MONDAY CLASSES
Strings and Things (Grades K-5) Friendship bracelets, finger knitting, lanyards, and more! In

Puzzle Mania (Grades K-5) From floor puzzles, to brain games, to mind benders and more this class is for everyone who likes to challenge their

All About Comics (Grades K-5) Are you interested in comics, cartoons, graphic novels, or do you just like to draw? Students of any ability will learn to de-velop their narrative and graphic abilities, and take home a completed comic of their very own! Tuesdays: 02/27-04/24 Time: 2:25PM-4PM Cost: $128 CM/$120 FM
Field Hockey (Grades K-5) Let’s have some fun in the gym and in the play court by learn-ing and playing the game of floor hockey. We will learn fun-daments, working on skills, and play in a world cup tourna-ment. Tuesdays: 02/27-04/24 Time: 4PM-5:15PM Cost: $128 CM/$120 FM

Jazzy Jewelry (Grades K-5) Let’s get blinged out together in this fun filled class where children will be creating their own pieces of jewelry. Chil-dren will be able to work on motor and listening skills in this fun class. Wednesday: 02/28-04/25 Time: 1:10PM-2:25PM Cost: $118 CM/$110 FM
*Coding with Kids: Game Development (Vendor) (Grades 1-5) Do you play games and wonder how they are created? Would you like to build your own computer programs? Come learn how at the Coding with Kids Academy! In this fun after-school class, you will be introduced to the core concepts of computer programming, including loops, condi-tionals and variables. Using the Scratch development envi-ronment, you will learn how to create your own programs, such as simple games, animations, and interactive stories. Sports Spectacular (Grades K-5) Let’s Play! Save the best for last by finishing up the school day with Sports Spectacular, a variety athletic program that features different sports throughout the session. Double Play (Grades K-5) No more “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe”… just go with the COM-BO! Can't decide on just one program? Create a Double-Play! You can choose two programs to run as a combination class. WeMIX Wednesdays! (Grades K-5) Are there so many classes the Y offers you don’t know which ones to choose! Well, you are in luck! Each week we will do an activity from one of the classes we offer each week. We will experiment, create, write, play, build, and so much more. Join us for weeks of endless fun! Adventures in Math with Mr. Chan from the Boy Scouts of America (Grades K-5) The YMCA and the Boy Scouts of America have teamed up to bring you a fun new collaboration. potential. With a calm and creative setting, Kids University offers your child the chance to thrive
while learning and growing in a socially conscious, child-oriented, fun and enjoyable environment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In order to ensure the success of all Kids University classes, cancellations will not be accepted
and refunds will not be given after Friday, March 9th. We will not provide prorated refunds for
sessions of partial attendance.

If your child attends Arbor Heights School Age Care Program please let Emma or Hannah
know that they need to come to classes on specific days.
The school locks the front doors after school. Please follow the procedures that the
school puts out at the beginning of the year to get a key card. This is important to be
able to check your child out of Arbor Heights Kids U.
We do provide snacks for the kids, if your child has allergies please make sure our staff
know about them. We are nut free but we still need to know if your child has allergies to
them or anything else.
Please remember that Kids U will not he held during the week of spring break April 9th–
13th. All classes will resume back on the following Monday, April 16th.
Please pick up on time and check your child out with an instructor, you will be asked to
show ID to make sure that you are on the pick up list so please make sure to bring your
photo ID with you. If someone else will be picking up your child please make sure that
they have been added to the approved pick up list.

CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP AND PARTICIPATION
Member Health: The applicant(s) represents that he/she is in physically sound condition and understands that participation in
aerobics and other exercise, weight training, recreational sports, and use of pools, spas, saunas, steam rooms and fitness
equipment carry a potential risk of injuries or illness. The applicant further understands that the YMCA of Greater Seattle
assumes no responsibility for any such injury or illness.
Member Conduct and Right to Use the Facility: Applicant agrees to abide by all policies and procedures of the YMCA of
Greater Seattle and its branches and understands that failure to act in accordance with these rules may result in expulsion
from the YMCA and revocation of the membership.
Criminal History: The applicant acknowledges that it is the policy of the YMCA of Greater Seattle to deny membership to any
individual convicted of a sexual offense and that the YMCA will periodically check its membership records for criminal
history.
Property Loss: The applicant understands that the YMCA of Greater Seattle is not responsible for personal property lost,
damaged or stolen while using YMCA facilities or participating in YMCA programs.
Photograph Permission: The applicant hereby gives permission for the YMCA (local, national and international) to use,
without limitation or obligation, photographs or other media that may include the member’s image or voice to promote or
interpret YMCA programs.
Cell Phone/ Video Taping: Due to the advances in video equipment and telephone video technology, and for the safety and
security of our members and guests, any and all video equipment may not be used in locker rooms, dressing areas, shower
areas, restrooms, or other areas generally deemed to be “private” within YMCA facilities. The YMCA of Greater Seattle
requests that cell phone usage be reserved for lobby areas only.
Insurance: The applicant understands that the YMCA of Greater Seattle does not provide any accident or health insurance for
its members or participants and further understands it is the applicant’s responsibility to provide such coverage.
Medical Treatment: I give permission to be given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). In the event the YMCA is unable to
communicate with me, I also give permission to be given first aid treatment by a qualified staff member of the YMCA, and to
be transported by ambulance or aid car to an emergency center for treatment. I further consent to the disclosure of any
health information provided to the Y and to the medical, surgical and hospital care treatment and procedures (including, but
not limited to, administration of necessary anesthetics, tests, x-ray examinations, transfusions, injections, drugs) to be
performed by a licensed physician or hospital selected by the YMCA when deemed immediately necessary or advisable by the
physician to safeguard my health.
LIABILITY WAIVER
In consideration of being permitted to utilize the facilities, services and programs of the YMCA of Greater Seattle (“YMCA”)
for any purpose including but not limited to, observation or use of facilities and equipment and participation in any program
affiliated with the YMCA without respect to location, I, on behalf of myself and any children, dependents or personal
representatives, hereby:
1. Acknowledge that I have (a) read this release and waiver of liability; (b) had the opportunity to inspect the YMCA’s
facilities and equipment or will immediately upon entering or participating will inspect and carefully consider such premises,
facilities or program; (c) accept the facilities, equipment and program as being safe and reasonably suited for the purposes
intended and (d) voluntarily sign this release and waiver of liability.
2. Release the YMCA, its directors, officers, employees, agents and volunteers (collectively “YMCA Releases”) from all liability
to me for any loss or damage done to property or injury or death to person, whether caused by the ordinary negligence of
the YMCA Releases or any other person, and while I am in, upon or about any YMCA branch or any facilities or equipment
therein or participating in any program or service affiliated with the YMCA.
3. Agree not to sue the YMCA Releases for any loss, liability, damage, injury or death described above and I agree to
indemnify and hold harmless the YMCA Releases and each of them from any loss, damage or cost they may incur due to my
presence in, upon or about any YMCA branch or any facilities or equipment therein or my participation in any program or
service affiliated with the YMCA whether caused by the ordinary negligence of the YMCA Releases or by any other person. I
assume full responsibility for the risk of such loss, liability, damage, injury, or death.
