Our journey started over a decade with the vision to make Pakistan “A Hepatitis Free Country” and by the Grace of Almighty we have grown in stature with the passage of time.
A majority of people get infected with the diseases due to lack of awareness and prevention which remains inexplicably low globally. An estimated 12 million Pakistani population is effect-ed with Hepatitis B and C. The prevalence of Hepatitis in Pakistan is the second highest in the world which is an alarming situation for the nation.
THF made its mark after successful intervention of Hepatitis Free Community Project in Koran-gi. The HFCP project was very effective and is hence being replicated in other high prevalent areas across Pakistan.
Challenges like the war against Hepatitis cannot be fought alone. Looking at the current alarm-ing situation in Pakistan we are focused on bringing together all public and private organiza-tions working on Hepatitis by learning from each other’s experience and working in cohesion with each other.
Keeping in view the numbers of increasing patients every year THF has increased its scope of work by holding screening camps and establishing multiple sentinel treatment sites to find and treat the Hepatitis patients.
I am proud to share that THF is blessed with an energetic and motivated team who are working round the clock for the cause of a Hepatitis free Pakistan.
I would also like to take this opportunity and say a special thank you to my fellow boardmembers, donors and supporters. Without their support our work would not be possible.
I look forward to all factions of the society to join hands with THF in this noble cause.

Hepatitis B and CTreatmentLatest treatment protocals are being followed at THF. The introduction of DAA’s (Direct Acting Anti-Hepatitis) oral drugs has not only changed the treatment scenario but it also provides safe and user friendly options for the patients. THF has build a strong referral network and a lot of non-affording patients are adopted free of cost for the treatment.

“Adopt A Patient”Initiative
Partnering with“Students As Change Agents”
Through its ongoing Adopt-a-Patient initiative, THF has been able to provide life saving treatment for the poor and marginalized community. Cost to adopt a patient is Rs. 20,000/patient. This cost covers medication, requisites lab test and consultation.
Students play a vital role as change agents as If they are engaging in any social activity or working on a project that aims to help students develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to actively participate in democratic life, mainly by learning and exercising their rights and responsibilities as citizens both at educational institute and also in their community.
The Health Foundation is very fortunate to have a group of student ambassadors from renowned institutes like Nixor, IBA, LUMS, Ziauddin University, University of Karachi, and Civil Hospital.
The objective is to facilitate these young minds to;• Act as Advocates for Hepatitis awareness amongst their families and friends• Undertaking screening activity • Develop research studies

Mr. Anwar Maqsood“THF wants to see a “Hepatitis Free Pakistan.” There are very few in the institutions in Pakistan who are just working and do not think of returns. THF is one such institution which only wants to do work and this is what this country needs. The work being done by THF is unimaginable and I commend them for their efforts.”
Dr. Samina Ahmed
Mrs. Bushra AnsariPakistan has many health related issues and there are several people doing work, but there is a whole lot more that needs to be done. The Health Foundation is doing a lot of work for the aware-ness of Hepatitis. I stand with them and would also request you to donate to this foundation and help them as much as possible in this noble cause.”
This is a message for all Pakistanis. It might worry you to know that every 12th person is Hepatitis B or C positive in Pakistan. In addition to this, Pakistan ranks the 2nd highest in Hepatitis prevalence around the globe which is quite worrying.
However we as a nation are very resilient and never lose hope.
I request you all too please come forward and whole heartedly sup port the Health Foundation to achieve the goal of a “Hepatitis Free Pakistan.”
Get tested today and encourage your family and friends to do the same!!

Let’s join hands with THF in this crusade against the menace ofHepatitis in Pakistan and contribute in saving precious lives.”
The People Who Matter MostOur Patients Our Priority!
My father (Behram) who is a watchman in a private company was not feeling well so we took him to a nearby Hospital of Awami Colony and came to know that liver was not function-ing properly and was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. The treatment prescribed by the doctor was very expensive and we couldn’t afford the treatment. A family friend of ours informed us that he knows an Organization named The Health Foundation and they provide free treatment for non-affording patients. My father condition was not well and we called people from village to pay their final respect. As the treatment started and with the passage of time my father regained health and fully recovered from this menace.
My name is Dilawar residing in Gulzar Colony. The Health Foundation was working in our area and providing awareness about Hepatitis. My wife attended the session and came to know about this “Silent Killer”and the Free Treatment which was being provided for the non-afford-ing patients. I was suffering from stomach pain after hearing this I went to PHRC where a few tests were conducted. I was shattered to see that I was suffering from Hepatitis C. My treatment started and after few months I recovered fully. I thank the Health Foundation for the free treatment initiative.
I was having pain in stomach and went to see doctor at The Health Foundation Hep C sentinel site located at UC kandiari, Sanghar. After few test prescribed by the doctor I came to know that I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. The news devas-tated me. Passing each day of life is a big challenge for me as I am too poor. The Health Foundation came to my aid and took care of all the treatment and i did not have to spend a single penny. I would like to thank THF for their support. Now I am living happily with my family.
