Over the past year we have been working hard to improve our safety systems and be in a stronger position to strengthen our relationship with our client. For a long time the way we managed safety was not aligned with what our client wanted, we were falling behind. Having Dennis resource this task has certainly helped in our efforts to improve substantially. In early March the Subiaco site asked
Temples to present a GOOD NEWS safety presentation to a group of contractors. The client recognised that Temples has improved significantly in the way the business is being managed and how safety is being treated with the priority it requires. What a great story for everyone in the business to be positively recognised by the client and to be asked to show other contractors what we are doing well. Thanks to all the drivers at Beenyup, Subiaco and Woodman Point for adhering to the safety rules and working to portray a positive professional image.
Major Changes in Livehaul
In the drive to continually improve, Inghams wanted Temples to move to a single shift in order to be able to process the birds faster and hence reduce the costs of manufacture. Thanks to all the boys for making these changes which haven ’t been easy. The client is very happy with how this has been handled. The Livehaul crew also passed another RSPCA audit, which helps the client to keep supplying a quality product. THANKS TO THE LIVEHAUL TEAM
Karen Temple has been on a well-deserved holiday for the first time in over 5 years. The Temple family went cruising around the south island of New Zealand. Karen has the complicated role of coordinating the bulk feed orders from the farmers and then working to create a plant schedule for production of the feed. There are over 20 different types of feed that get delivered to over 30 farms and each farm has on average more than 10 different delivery locations. You can imagine how difficult her job is. Russell Patchett stepped in and did a fantastic job in covering this role.

Distribution Centre is busy with the hardstand area full of product. You can see a total of 16 containers sitting in the yard ready for emptying. Lindy and the team have been very busy working with our existing clients and growing the business with new work. Earlier this year the opportunity came up to secure a lot of work in unloading containers full of bulker bags manufactured in Asia. The client needed Temples to start accepting containers with a very short time frame, which meant a specially designed lifting beam had to be ready in 2 weeks. It was and Temples won the work.
Administration Investment: The current accounting administration system was set up in 2004 and is being replaced with a new software package that has a number of customisations to help keep track of vehicle maintenance schedules, HVO accreditation, Main Road Pemits, vehicle licence expiry dates and a number of other modifications to make the administration task a lot simpler. At present we have separate systems for a variety of functions, which means duplication of effort across software packages. An integrated system will be a lot easier to manage and has been tailored for the Temples.

Distribution has been so busy even the DC Manager Lindy had to load a truck.
