Typical Day
There isn't a typical day in surveying, but there are 3 main steps for a basic order.
Step 1: PreparingFirst, a land surveyor must get an order for a piece of land. Then, he collects information about that certain piece of land.

Step 2: Field WorkThe information collected is used to help measure each portion of land.
Step 3: MappingMost surveyors have a CAD machine to map out their surveys. When the survey is completed, the true copy is signed, sealed, and dated.
How is Math Used in Your Career?
Algebra formulas are used for things like establishing length, area, and volume.
Trigonometry, Algebra, and Geometry are the basic maths used in surveying.

A surveyor's salary can range from $30,000 all the way up to $70,000. It really depends on the type of position you take on. Your salary will begin at as low as $25,000 if you begin your career with an internship.
