NEXT STEPS, DEEPER, DEEPER... ONE:
This magazine was born from a love of all things art… from the way we move through our daily chores to the ink we leave scattered on our notebook pages. It is all art. TWO:
This magazine wouldn’t be possible w/out the contributions of friends & strangers who feel in some ways the same. Otherwise, we wouldn’t spend so much time documenting. THREE:
This issue is now finished. But the magazine is a work in progress. If you want to be part of this project in the future, please contribute your work. Submission info is to the right. FOUR:
This magazine costs nothing. You’re encouraged to download & distribute as you see fit. However, I ask that all copies are printed in color to preserve the integrity of the work. FIVE:
Contributors are paid in karma. If you love what you see, please let them know. Where possible, web links & publishing information have been included for each artist.

Here's everyone reduced to the same versical standards:
The anonymity of the staffer behind the wheeled chair The queer guild of smokers on the most appropriate stair outside The rough-and-tumbler bent to his sick girl Or their sick daughter
Or sleep in the coat three sizes too expensive… The only disfigured member of the maudlin lot And her checking and rechecking the brunette clerk at the signing desk
And the smokers on our lovely stair-
Misconstruing every casual remark, To lend the listener the bleary-eyed overtones of our secret prospects And the prospects of our friend on the carpet Sunk like a spot stain on a nauseous checked print Immoveable, And on-again-off-again talkative Like, "Hear for me," "Thanks," serenity a quiet quiet, And a love's coat for a swaddling cloth And a blissful waiting dark. The other smoker asked for something with her eyes She asked for something; I gave her "How's it going?" She sighed and like, "It goes…"
I then: "Perhaps here more than anyplace else." And she: "Not so much more, if I get your meaning."
One more death: Small Talk, rest in peace. We knew you but recently.
I angled toward the insides of the doors
Having bested these double doors, like so many others,
There opened before me a bustling system of paperwork, mothers in blue
And their hidden artificial children bedecked in checked patterns
In ersatz fabrics which didn't hold up at the back.
And then the peaceful breathing of someone in a mood to breathe.
… Small Talk, rest in peace.
Rest with a burgeoning love Left askance in an environment aligned Where the only curves are functional
And the straightest, fullest bars and lines
Lord over the wheels and the tubes And over the adoration unaligned. But a guaranteed recovery
And a penchant for anticlimax And a motivated force rivaling even that of a mail clerk Trundling his cart deep in the bowels of the Robb Report.
What a curious formula for a restless reaction What a selling point for morphine What a cornered customer base What hellish pillows, what harsh plumbing What chill warmth, what static windows
And God, what alarm bells, what klaxons sound the sickness of a king? And what small clinks to a poor man's oblivion? Clambering up the walk, the lone doorman watches night turn to day And home, crafts breakfast in an ancient skillet made of seasoned iron.

My girlfriend, Kate, & I spent three months at the end of 2 thousand 7 traveling through Nepal, India & Bangladesh… much farther from home than I’d ever been. These photographs help me remember what has become a blur of color & memories in my mind.
