Agilent CDMA Base Station Over-Air Maintenance Tool
The Agilent Technologies CDMA Over-
Air Maintenance Tool is used to make
diagnostic measurements of cdmaOne,
IS-2000 (cdma2000 1x), and J-STD-008
CDMA base stations over the air. The
system software runs on a PC that
interfaces with a digital RF receiver or
a CDMA mobile phone or both.

The purpose of this configuration guide is to assist you in ordering the correct system configuration for your application. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the Agilent CDMA Over-Air Maintenance Tool
Data Sheet (Agilent literature number 5968-8687E), which describes the features and functionality in detail. The Agilent CDMA Over-Air MaintenanceTool for IS-2000 is available as a receiver based system.
This document is divided into six parts:
Part 1. Basic description of product configuration
Part 2. Software options
Part 3. Receiver hardware options
Part 4. Accessories
Part 5. Upgrading existing systems
Part 6. Ordering examples
Part 6 provides the information required for upgrading existing systems. For example, if you currently own an Agilent E6474A wireless network optimization platform with only phone-based measurement capability, andyou want to upgrade it to have combined phone and receiver-based measurement capability, then the information in Part 6 will assist you inordering the necessary options.
Part 1. Basic description of product configuration
The E6474A system is made up of software, receiver hardware, and accessories. To order a system, you:
1. Choose the software functionality that you want (option numbers in the 150’s).
2. Choose the receiver hardware that you want (from E645XC family).
3. Choose the accessories that you want (Agilent 86154A and E6473Adrive test system accessories).
Each system requires an Agilent digital receiver. The system also requires aPC with Windows® 95, 98, Windows® ME, NT, or 2000 running the measure-ment software. A GPS receiver and GPS antenna are required to log the posi-tion information and provide timing for the receiver CDMA measurements.IMPORTANT: At least one software option and receiver must be ordered forthe product configuration to be valid.
Windows® 95, 98, and NT® are U.S. registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.

Part 5. Upgrading existing systems
The Agilent E6474A is a scalable system. You can start with one set of capabilities and integrate additional capabilities later. For example:
• Start with a receiver-based system and upgrade later to include phone-based measurements.
The system is made up of software, receiver hardware, and accessories.Upgrading a system is similar to building a new system. You simply order those system elements that you don’t currently have. To upgrade a system:
1. Decide what system capability you want.
2. Identify the capability you currently have.
3. Choose the software options that you need to add (option numbers in the 150’s).
4. Choose the hardware options that you need to add (E645XC receivers).
5. Choose the accessories that you need to add (Agilent 86154A and E6473A drive test system accessories).
Figure 2 illustrates the process of choosing the specific options to orderwhen you are upgrading an Agilent E6474A system.
The CDMA Over-Air Maintenance Tool system is completely scalable with theAgilent E6474A CDMA drive test system. For more information on relatedproducts, please refer to the literature listed at the end of this document.
Upgrading existing cdmaOne systems
If you own an older E7490A or E7473A cdmaOne system and would like toupgrade receiver hardware and/or system software to cdma2000 1x capabili-ty, choose from the following options:
• 86157A - Upgrades E6450B or E6452A receiver to higher per-formance C version. Upgrades E7473A Option 111or E7490A Option 111 code domain power softwarefor cdma2000 1x measurements.
• E6474A Option 151 - Upgrades E7473A Option 111 or E7490A Option 111code domain power software for cdma2000 1x mea-surements (software requires C version receiver forthese measurements).
• 86150C - Upgrades E6450B or E6452A receiver to higher per-formance C version.
