  • UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS JULY 2015 INTAKE

    The Africa University of Guidance, Counselling and Youth Development (AUGCYD) is a globally renowned University FULLY ACCREDITED by the Government of Malawi through the mandate of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The AUGCYD is based in Lilongwe, Malawi and steadily spreading across Africa. The University prides itself in its quality courses, qualified lecturers, modern teaching and learning technology, and global recognition of its awards. The University is currently inviting suitably qualified persons to apply for studies in the academic programmes listed below for the Semester beginning on Tuesday 7th July, 2015. The advertised programmes are also APPROVED by NCHE.

    A. FACULTY OF DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS1. Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and International Relations2. Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Relations

    B. FACULTY OF GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING1. Diploma in Guidance and Counselling2. Bachelor of Arts in Guidance and Counselling3. Master of Arts in Guidance and Counselling

    C. FACULTY OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT1. Bachelor of Arts in Youth Development2. Master of Arts in Youth Development

    MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    1. DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (2 years) Full MSCE or equivalent with credits in three subjects including English Language or Literature. Certificate in relevant field of study is an added advantage.

    2. BACHELORS DEGREE PROGRAMMES (4 years) Full MSCE or equivalent with at least 6 credit passes. A-Level holders must have a minimum of 3 principal passes with an aggregate of at least 9 points.

    The AUGCYD interpretation of A-Level results is as follows: A=5; B=4; C=3. Applicants with relevant diplomas or advanced level certificates from recognized institutions shall

    be admitted at the discretion of the University. Mature Entry/Exemption Policy: Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL); Accreditation of Prior

    Experiential Learning (APEL); Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL).

    3. MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMES (2 years) Relevant undergraduate degree from a recognized institution.

    METHOD OF DELIVERY Combined approach using face-to-face sessions (classroom contact), distance learning, supervised field attachment, and e-learning

    ELIGIBILITYApplicants who were withdrawn from any other institution of higher learning on Academic grounds are not eligible for selection.
