Adventure Tours to Croatia's Dalmation Coast are Rich in Both Natural Beauty and History Where can you bike wooded hills, paddle calm waters, and visit historic sites representing Greek, Roman, Spanish, and Franciscan Traditions all in about a week? On one of Austin-Lehman's adventure tours to the Dalmation Coast of Croatia, of course. Though not well known in the U.S. as a tourist hot spot, Croatia actually ranks as the 18th most popular tourist destination in the world; which is not such a surprise considering a large part of the country stretches out along the northwest coast of the Adriatic Sea, directly across the water from Italy. Bike and Kayak Tours in Croatia On our bike tour, we pedal through villages, harbors, and wooded hills as we travel through the islands along the southwest coast. With luxurious hotels arranged in four different cities along the way, make sure the busy days wind down in comfort. We also kayak in the calm, clear waters of the islands. If you have never kayaked, this is a great opportunity to learn a skill that you will be able to use again and again on future adventure vacations. The calm waters and easy pace of our kayaking day set up perfect conditions for learning and our guides are prepared to teach you all the basics of this enjoyable way to navigate the water in your own boat. We'll enlist the aid of a private boat to get to the island of Korcula where we will bike the island's vineyard and hillside olive groves. From the hills we have a magnificent view of the Adriatic Sea. Hike and Swim the Island To round out the biking and boating, on the island of Mljet we will hike and even swim in a salt water lake. No trip through the island region would be complete without some beach time and we will enjoy the warm sands of Lumbarda. Get Deeper into Croatian Culture Croatia has a culture that is still in touch with its historic architecture that includes palaces, churches, and arched bridges. We don't want you to miss out on the culture of Croatia or the people of this lovely country either. In keeping with the spirit of adventure

travel, we'll attend a cooking class in the home of a local chef where we'll be making a traditional pastry called burek – still a favorite breakfast of fishermen and farmers. In a country with such a rich and interesting history, it's invaluable to have experienced guides who can show you around, answer questions, and handle all the logistics involved in outdoor adventure travel, leaving you free to bike, hike, paddle, and simply take in the beauty and culture of this intriguing country.
