ADDENDUM #1 Date: September 9, 2019 Project: Poe Middle School Roof Replacement Project (Bid # 20-002) THIS ADDENDUM IS SUPPLEMENTARY TO THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PROJECT. ALL CHANGES, ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS SHALL BECOME PART OF THE CONTRACT AS IF ORIGINALLY CALLED FOR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE AGENDA
Pre-Bid Conference Agenda – Poe Middle School 9-9-19 Bid Date- 9/18/19 Start Date – 12/21/19 Work Winter Break 12/21/19-1/14/20 (Mandatory) Work on Saturdays after Winter Break is permitted but not mandatory. Work Spring Break (4/4/20 -4/11/20) is mandatory. Work on Saturdays after Spring Break is not mandatory but is permitted. All Saturday work must be approved by FCPS and should be requested no later than the end of business day on Thursday prior to the Saturday being requested. Substantial Completion Date – 8/23/19 (all hot work completed) No work first week of school – metal work can continue with noise restrictions. Final Completion Date – 9/27/19 (punch list complete and accepted by owner) Only roof areas shown on the roof plan provided are to be replaced. Verify canopies shown on roof plan to be replaced. This replacement project is a total roof replacement type 1. Power vacuuming is required per the specifications. Specification section 07510 and 07530 are the roof replacement types. Manufacturers are Firestone, GAF, Soprema and Johns Manville. Refer to 07510 and 07530 for guidelines with these manufacturers. Roof warranty is a 20 year NDL warranty (FCPS details and specifications can exceed those specifications).
Liquid flashing is detailed at drains, gravel stop edges and scuppers – no roof cement (paint all installations). Paint all liquid flashings, roof cemented areas, lead flashings, asphalt or torched bleed out area, and drain strainers using manufacturer’s coatings. Allowance for project is $25,000.00 – do not forget to add this to your bid. Work at the school prior to school ending is by FCPS approval only. Metal work:
Replace all metal unless directed by FCPS (verify at pre bid meeting).
Check the roof plan closely – verify all details you are responsible for.
Any questions ask before you install. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
QUESTIONS/ANSWERS/STATEMENTS FROM BIDDERS Question 1: What are we doing with the overflow drains? Answer 1: All overflow drains are to be removed and a pipe stubbed up through the
finished roof. Question 2: What is being done with the area where the gravel stop transitions into
coping? Answer 2: Areas are to be typical wood cant detail and tapered edge insulation used to
feather out any offset in the transitions. Question 3: Are we installing coping on the block wall alongside the loading dock? Answer 3: Yes, to be added to the contract. See note #3 on attached revised roof plan. Question 4: The canopy observed during walkthrough is not on original drawing. Are we
replacing the roof on this canopy? Answer 4: Yes, to be added to the contract. See note #4 on attached revised roof plan. Question 5: The upper section on front of school was noted and a question was asked as
to whether the section could be deleted from the contract? Answer 5: Yes, it will be deleted from the contract. See note #5 on attached revised roof
plan.
